Ben Johnson is a genius, and I think most people missed this yesterday. The Bears team breakdown was a MASTERCLASS in psychological manipulation. All offseason there was a question surrounding whether Ben Johnson would bring back “Good, Better, Best” as a victory chant. And honestly, it was probably a difficult thing for him to navigate. • What if you try something new and it doesn’t hit the same? Or • What if you keep it around and people think it’s recycled and lazy? Ben knows that. So instead, he creates option 3, and shocks the team by giving them no victory breakdown at all. What happens next is cool to witness… This causes immense dissatisfaction within the players and creates a vacuum of desire to cap off their victory. Players all over the lockerroom start yelling and begging for it. Jahdae Walker even starts tweaking out like a drug addict. He’s joking, but the joke is playing off very similar withdrawal based brain chemistry. ✨And suddenly the entire psychology behind GBB has changed into a necessity✨ Ben is no longer forcing last year’s tradition onto a new team. It is something the PLAYERS CRAVE. So Ben Johnson being a good coach gives them what they want… although he puppeteered the entire situation.
