In Minneapolis, we love our Somali neighbors, and we will always stand up for them. Make sure to stop by 24 Somali Mall and other locally owned Somali businesses and show them some love right now.

New businesses are popping up all over Minneapolis, and D’s Kitchen in Northeast is one of the latest. They’re serving up smash burgers and other fantastic food that’s absolutely worth the stop. If you’re in the neighborhood, swing by and welcome them to Minneapolis!

ICE, get the fuck out of Minneapolis.

Thousands of Target employees are coming back to their headquarters in Downtown, bringing more people, more foot traffic, and more life to the core of Minneapolis. We’re pumped to have them back!

Happy Somali Independence Day! Here in Minnesota, home to one of the largest Somali communities in the United States, we celebrate the resilience, culture, and leadership that continue to enrich our city and community.

Kitchen upgrade, new porch, or new room? 4 days. Roofing upgrades? 1 day. Replacing a toilet or leaky sink? Instantaneous. We’re cutting red tape and speeding up permits to make it easier to build, improve your home, open a business, and get things done.

Let this lame-ass racist rally fall flat and fade into irrelevance. Don’t give these people the satisfaction of a response, the confrontation they’re hoping for, or the spectacle they came looking to create.

When you come for one of us, you come for all of us. We stand with our immigrant neighbors.

Today, we lost another Minneapolis neighbor after multiple ICE agents pummeled him and shot him to death. How many more people need to die or get shot before this ends? President Trump, I am calling on you to put the American people and this American city first & get ICE out.

Young entrepreneurs are starting businesses all over Minneapolis and I couldn’t be more proud of them. Awash Ethiopian Restaurant just opened up on E. Lake Street and spoiler alert: it’s delicious. Make sure to go check it out!

Uptown isn’t just coming back. It is back! Arizona Taco is a new restaurant on Lake Street with an incredible rooftop, dance floor, tamale classes, and much more. Make sure to go check it out!

Emergency rental assistance is on the way!

My jump shot might not be ready for Target Center, but Unrivaled is. On January 24, some of the best basketball players in the world are coming to Minneapolis, led in part by our own Napheesa Collier, who co-founded the league. See you downtown!

Yesterday, 30 new officers took the oath to serve Minneapolis. They’re part of one of MPD’s largest and most diverse graduating classes in recent history. That’s real momentum as we continue strengthening public safety and investing in the people who serve our city.

Minneapolis residents have shown the world who we are—resilient, welcoming, and proud of this city. Now it’s time to come see it for yourself. Grab a meal by the lake, spend a day in our parks, explore our neighborhoods—and experience the spirit that makes Minneapolis special.

The Trump admin will tell you ICE is here for safety. That is a lie. They are creating chaos and danger while tearing families apart. Enough. We want them out.

Want to keep rents down? Keep building homes. Proud to break ground on 931 Marshall, where two single-family homes are becoming 89 new homes in NE Minneapolis, with seven affordable units at 60% AMI. More supply means more options, more competition, and less pressure on rents.

I want our police officers spending their time keeping people safe, not hunting down our neighbors.

CAVA chose Minneapolis for its first Minnesota storefront and we couldn’t be more proud to be their 500th overall store. I stopped by this week to welcome the team and check out their new location near the University of Minnesota. Make sure to go check it out!

In addition to tearing families apart and terrorizing our neighborhoods, this massive ICE presence has also been horrible for Minneapolis business. We need ICE to leave so our economy can get reignited.

Today, we lost another Minneapolis neighbor after multiple ICE agents pummeled him and shot him to death. How many more people need to die or get shot before this ends? President Trump, I am calling on you to put the American people and this American city first & get ICE out.
