Looking at this video where a 90-year-old woman who cannot walk is being carried out of her house while crying calling Allah for help because her house my is set to be demolished broke me down. 💔 In May, the Prime Minister, NABBANJA ROBINAH, launched the Uganda Wetland Strategic Plan 2026–2036, a 10 year plan focusing on the government’s commitment to protecting wetlands from encroachment, degradation and climate change. On paper, this is a strong and necessary plan. But what is happening on the ground tells a very different story. Instead of fair and consistent implementation, what we are seeing feels selective and painful for many ordinary citizens. Bulldozers, police, and the UPDF are being deployed to demolish homes and families are left displaced with little clarity on compensation or relocation. Instead of engaging them through fair and humane process. You’re destroying their houses and arrest them too, Just adding salt to their wounds. How do we explain a situation where long standing homes are demolished while some commercial developments and recent constructions in wetland areas appear untouched? Like Stabex I am not saying people should remain in wetlands. That is not the solution. But if the goal is real environmental protection then the process must be for everyone not targeting few leaving others behind . Dear National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) , Environmental protection is important but so is fairness, accountability, and transparency in how it is carried out. We want change but change must not target only the poor while overlooking powerful actors and large corporations that pollute more in wetland.

The kind of violence women are inflicting on men is a reality we hardly talk about. 💔 A woman r slapping a lame man simply because he was cleaning a trench to let water flow freely. Violence is violence, no matter who it’s directed at. It’s time we speak up for all victims.

Here is the video 😭 Imagine this — the doctor finally showed up, only when it was too late. The woman had already died, yet he had the audacity to accuse me of “looking for jobs” and even tried to twist the story, claiming I abused him. Thank God the woman with me saw everything — me crying, begging, pleading for help that never came. I didn’t know this woman, but I fought for her with everything I had. And still the system failed her, just as it continues to fail many. This is our reality: people dying in front of us, doctors refusing to act, hospitals with no drugs, and politics controlling every corner of healthcare. Even the people we call for help are never there. I broke down completely. I cried seeing someone die in front of us, mourning beside an innocent family that had no idea what was happening and no one to stand for them. Their fear, confusion, and helplessness tore me apart. I’m broken💔! Gabriel Buule

Nothing breaks my heart like seeing a man cry. I’m following the story of a boda rider whose motorcycle was stolen, the only source of income he had. Watching him break down is deeply painful. It’s not just about losing a bike; it’s about losing the only way he provides for his family. As he speaks through tears, thinking about his wife who cannot speak and the responsibilities waiting for him at home, you could see the fear and helplessness in his eyes. Moments like this remind us that men carry so much in silence. The pressure to provide. The expectation to stay strong. The fear of failing the people who depend on them. Yet they rarely have the space to fall apart. I pray he finds his bike. I pray God restores what was taken from him and opens new doors for him and his family. May no honest man’s sweat go to waste. 🙏🏾

Dear Uganda Police Force, see how cheap some of your officers are. You claim your role is to protect peace, yet people in power hire you to kill and do their dirty work. This video clearly shows how rotten the police system has become. Instead of protecting life, officers joined the crowd and attempted to end someone’s life. 🙌🙌!!

Oh my God 💔😩. This is heartbreaking. Thankfully the woman survived, otherwise we would be saying RIP. When we raised concerns about Ham’s development along the Nakivubo Channel, many people said we were opposing development. But that was never the case. Speaking up about poor planning is not opposing development 😥, it is demanding responsible and thoughtful development. It is painful to keep seeing ordinary people suffer the same losses again and again, while the powerful continue to benefit from the pain and sweat of others. Today, just small rains can flood the city. That alone should be a warning that something is not right. In Uganda, it is always the poor who suffer the most. They are the ones who lose homes, businesses, and livelihoods whenever disasters like flooding happen. What makes it even more frustrating is that we already have many serious problems that affect people every day. Yet you still find money being allocated to things that do not address the real issues in the country at all. has become a repeated cycle ; rains come, the city floods, people lose property and livelihoods, and then silence follows. When leaders finally speak, it is often only speeches instead of real solutions.

Dear Uganda Police Force, We appreciate the effort you’ve put into arresting the two suspects involved in the matooke theft case even deploying sniffer dogs to track them down. That level of response shows capacity and commitment. However, here in Kampala, we are facing a much more terrifying reality. Armed thugs moving with pangas and knives are attacking people , beating, robbing, and even assaulting women and yet they seem to operate untouched. No strong statements. No visible action. Meanwhile, almost every day, victims are speaking out. Recently, I tweeted about the “bijambiya” groups. There was no response. The very next day, this woman was attacked by five of them in a public place beaten and robbed and when i made my tweet it made me realise many people have been victims to these thugs. These criminals move with pangas and knives hidden in black bags. I survived an attack myself but see how minor cases of matooke theft are given attention leaving the ongoing bijjambiya 🥲 !

Meet my uncle, Mukimbiri Ronald, who was contesting for MP in Gomba West and was announced dead after being beaten with a metallic chair on the head on the orders of his opponent, Robinah Guleeme Rwakoojo,(NRM) and her husband. After challenging rigged election results, he was left unconscious and bleeding while his few friends were brutally attacked. Votes were stolen, and Mukimbiri’s agents were arrested and tortured for simply doing their job. Mukimbiri Ronald had fully complied with Electoral Commission guidelines and arrived at the tally centre with a small entourage of just 4. He was shocked to find his opponent with over 80 supporters, creating an intimidating and unsafe environment. All of this happened in the presence of the District Internal Security Officer (DISO) Mwiine and the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Katongole Ronald of Gomba district working on orders of madam. Even when urgent medical attention was needed, treatment was blocked, blocked treatment leaving him to bleed, apparently until they thought he was dead. False reports of his death were even celebrated on radio by her supporters💔😭 thinking he is no more. But i thank God even amidst the heavy bleeding and delay he gave him asecond chance💔😥. This is not politics. This is a crime against democracy and human life. Those responsible must be named, investigated, and punished. Elections won through fear, violence, and intimidation are illegitimate.

What cameras can’t capture: 😩In Kasese, hundreds were forced off their land and locked in a camp under heavy military guard. Children and families face hunger, no food is allowed in, no photos permitted, and anyone who leaves is barred from returning. The world must see this.

The voices you’ve been waiting for are here. As oil cuts through these lands, women carry the heaviest burden, their labor intensified, their resilience pushed to the limit, and their dignity placed at risk. Yet despite neglect and exclusion, their voices rise with courage and conviction, demanding leadership, meaningful inclusion in decision making spaces, and justice for themselves, their families, and future generations. Listen to Tushabe Getrude and other women speak truth to power, sharing their pain, struggles, and the heavy toll the oil pipeline has taken on their lives. VOICES ALONG THE OIL PIPELINE

There are moments when I genuinely feel for people who step forward to bring change. When Jennifer Musisi attempted to organize the city, many criticized her methods. Yet after she left, some of the same voices began saying, “I wish she was still here, the city would be more organized.” Today, similar efforts are underway and once again, the complaints are just as loud. So the question is: what do we truly want? Some of us had actually given up on going to the city center because of the congestion. Imagine walking while constantly trying not to step on someone’s tomatoes, shoes, Clothings, with every space and pathway completely occupied. Moving through the city had become stressful and chaotic. We cannot demand a clean, organized city while resisting every action taken to achieve it. Structure requires difficult decisions. Progress often comes with discomfort. Day 2 of clean Kampala!!! The trees are now becoming visible, isn’t this beautiful 😍. Thank you Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Sharifah Buzeki

When asked where Phionah was, prison wardens had no answer, they pointed fingers, gave excuses—one finally said, let’s call Luzira Prison first.” This is outrageous. How does someone go missing in a state custody? KCB BANK UGANDA, this is your responsibility. We demand answers now.

When we speak, they say we are lying. But the more the police remain silent about these armed thugs moving around with pangas and knives, the more it feels like we are being left to defend ourselves. I have been warning people to be careful around Kisaasi and Nalya , but now it seems the attacks are spreading everywhere. This lady was attacked in Nabweru. Her friend was attacked inside her own house in Kisaasi. A friend to her father was hit the same day in Namanve–Kiwanga. Another friend of hers who was eight months pregnant, was attacked also in Kyanja. These are real people. These are real incidents. What is most painful is that action always seems to come after someone has died. Why must it take a life for investigations to become urgent? Why can’t serious steps be taken while the problem is happening? We are scared. We are frustrated. And we are tired of feeling unheard.

I’ve been going through your messages and comments, and I want to sincerely thank all of you for standing with me through this. My heart is heavy, but it’s also healing. Reading your stories, seeing the pain you’ve all endured in hospitals 😥, the lack of medicines, the neglect, the cruelty ; it’s clear that almost every one of us has faced this. It’s heartbreaking, but your courage in speaking out gives me hope that together we can demand real change. Thank you for standing up, for sharing your truth, and for refusing to stay silent. On top of that, my incredible brother Fahad Nyonjo King created a deeply touching ballad , it moved me to tears all over again. You can listen to it and feel the depth of what he poured into it.
