What is the truth behind the Uttam Nagar violence? So far, most accounts circulating publicly have come from only one side. I spoke to Shaheen from the Muslim family involved, who alleged that the dispute began after her aunt was harassed on the day of Holi, following which tensions escalated in the neighbourhood. According to her, Tarun later arrived with around 20–25 individuals carrying iron rods and sticks and allegedly assaulted several members of her family, leaving many seriously injured. She also claimed that a 14-year-old boy, Rizwan, was beaten, suffered seizures, and was later taken away from the hospital, after which the family has had no information about his whereabouts. Shaheen further alleged that despite multiple injuries in the family, several of their male relatives, including a minor, were arrested and sent to jail, while their homes and vehicles were looted and demolished, and women from the family were also taken into custody. These are serious allegations from the Muslim side that had not been heard publicly until now. The truth should emerge through a fair and impartial investigation. Observer Post Hindi Watch here:

“Iss baar Eid nahi manegi. Iss baar bakre nahi katenge, iss baar saare mulle katenge.” Following the Tarun murder case, several hate-filled videos targeting Muslims have begun circulating widely on social media. In one such viral clip, a young boy can be heard making inflammatory remarks, saying, “This time there will be no Eid, no goats will be slaughtered — this time all the mullahs will be slaughtered.” He further alleges that police receive weekly payments from Muslims and threatens violence, adding, “If any mullah is seen, we will cut him immediately.” He also calls for throwing pigs and pig-related items during Eid celebrations, while the crowd around him can be heard cheering and encouraging the remarks.

A source told The Observer Post that Delhi Police personnel were allegedly stopping young men near Gate No. 2 of Jamia Millia Islamia Metro Station and recording their names on a "detained persons" form on Friday. According to the source, two police personnel without visible name badges had already filled out several forms by the time they arrived. The source alleged that when questioned, the officers cited the imposition of Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and asked them to leave the area. The source claimed that the protest site was far from Jamia Nagar and that the area around the metro station was peaceful, questioning why the names of metro commuters were being recorded on a detainee form.

This is the last call of Maulana Tousif Raza Mazhari, and it directly challenges the “accident” narrative. In the recording, he is heard telling his wife that drunk men in the train had caught him, were abusing and beating him, and he repeatedly asked her to call the police for help. He also says there were people in the compartment, but no one was intervening. These are not the words of a man who accidentally fell off a train. This is a man describing his own assault in real time. The Observer Post

Muslims are fleeing Uttam Nagar in Delhi after a series of hate speeches and threats from Hindutva groups. I spoke to a local resident, Jameel Ahmad, who told me that many Muslim families are leaving the area after individuals like Lalit Sharma allegedly made threats, with speeches circulating online declaring that Muslims would be killed or driven out. According to locals, some speeches have even threatened that Muslims will not be allowed to celebrate Eid and that Holi will be forcibly played on them on the day of Eid. APCR warned that what began as a personal dispute between two families in the killing of 26-year-old Tarun Kumar is being deliberately given a communal colour by certain groups to provoke wider tensions ahead of Eid, with fourteen adults and two juveniles arrested so far in the case. I travelled to Madhubani, Bihar to report on the brutal killing of Roshan Khatoon and what I found is deeply disturbing. On 25 February 2026, during the month of Ramadan, Roshan Khatoon was tied to a pole and mercilessly beaten by more than 20 people, including men and women, while she was fasting, after she went to the village head’s house to resolve a dispute. Her family says that when she asked for water, she was instead forced to drink a mixture of alcohol and urine, an act they describe as deliberate humiliation because she was a Muslim woman. She succumbed to her injuries on 1 March. What followed raises even more serious questions. Instead of immediately ensuring medical care and justice, police allegedly took Roshan Khatoon and her husband to the Police station while she was critically injured and demanded ₹50,000 for their release. The family says they were eventually released after 5–6 hours after paying ₹4,000. Nineteen people have been named in the FIR. Yet, nearly a month later, only one arrest has been made. Her family alleges that the accused are being shielded due to political backing from BJP and JDU leaders. Meanwhile, even after weeks, the postmortem report has still not been released. A woman was lynched, humiliated in the most inhuman way, and a month later, justice remains nowhere in sight. Bihar Police #JusticeForRoshanKhatoon

In the Uttam Nagar case in Delhi, the Muslim family is now claiming that rumours are circulating about the death of 14-year-old Rizwan, who they say went missing after being taken from a hospital following the clash. What is the truth? Where is Rizwan? Authorities must clarify his whereabouts and address these claims. Silence will only deepen the questions around this case.

In Juhapura, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, a 70-year-old man identified as Zaheer Shaikh died after being taken into police custody, leading to serious allegations of custodial torture and conflicting claims from police and family members. Zaheer Shaikh had reportedly been arrested in connection with a case involving alleged possession of around 500 kg of beef. Earlier, videos showing police action against some accused in the case had circulated widely on social media. Before his death, a video recorded by his son surfaced online in which Zaheer claimed that police personnel assaulted him in custody. In the video, he alleged that officers beat him, pulled his beard, kicked him in his private parts, and demanded money as a bribe. He specifically named an officer identified as Akshay in the recording. Family members and local residents have alleged that Zaheer was subjected to custodial violence and abuse. According to them, he named several police personnel before he died while undergoing treatment at SVP Hospital in Ahmedabad. Police, however, have denied the torture allegations and stated that Zaheer’s condition deteriorated after he allegedly consumed a high dose of medication while in custody, which they say led to his hospitalisation and subsequent death. An old video of Maulana Tousif Raza Mazhari has surfaced, in which he is heard speaking about issues of mob lynching and urging Muslims to raise their voice and participate politically, including supporting leaders like Asaduddin Owaisi. The video has resurfaced after the 30-year-old cleric from Bihar was found dead near railway tracks in Bareilly on April 26, 2026. While authorities have termed the death an accident, his family alleges he was assaulted and thrown from a moving train, citing a distressing call and video interaction during the incident. The Bareilly Police has said that “necessary legal action” will be taken after the family raised suspicions, adding that the investigation into the case is ongoing.

Why is no one talking about Rizwan? According to the family, the 14-year-old was allegedly struck on the head multiple times with an iron rod by Tarun during the clash, causing him to collapse and suffer seizures. He was later taken to a hospital for treatment. The family claims that while Rizwan was being treated, unknown individuals allegedly forced the family’s women to sign some documents and then took him away. Since then, they say they have received no information about his whereabouts and do not know whether he is safe.

A 28-year-old Muslim truck driver, Aamir, was killed in Rajasthan's Bhiwadi, with his family alleging that Bajrang Dal-linked cow vigilantes shot him dead. The sole breadwinner from Haryana's Palla village, he leaves behind a four-month-pregnant wife, a two-year-old daughter, and a sister whose wedding was planned after Eid. His family says he was targeted simply for being Muslim and later labelled a cow smuggler to justify the attack. Police initially denied any gunshot, attributing his injuries to stone-pelting, while the family insists he was shot in the head without warning. An FIR has been registered against unidentified persons and Bajrang Dal members, but no arrests had been made at the time of reporting. My report The Observer Post

31-year-old Mohammad Areeb, a scrap dealer from Delhi, was taken to a deserted area in Faridabad by Rahul Prajapati, Harsh Tomar and Babu Ashok on the pretext of showing scrap material. During the ride, one of the accused slit Areeb’s throat from behind while he was driving a scooty. He was then stabbed multiple times in the abdomen, and his face was smashed with stones. According to the family, the accused later tied his hands and legs, dumped the body in bushes and poured petrol on it. The body was recovered four days later from a forested area in a severely decomposed condition. Speaking to me, Areeb’s family said this was clearly not a money dispute. They said the brutality of the killing indicates there was something more behind the attack, and questioned why he was murdered in such a horrific manner if it was only about money. They said that during questioning one of the accused mentioned that Areeb had recited the Kalma, raising suspicions that he may have been targeted because he was Muslim. The family has demanded a fair investigation and strict action against the accused. The family also said they do not trust the Haryana Police and have demanded that the case be transferred to Delhi Police for a fair investigation. Watch the full report here:
