#HRC55 The Human Rights Council is about to vote on a shameful resolution condemning Israel and yet does not even mention Hamas, or explicitly condemn its brutal acts on October 7. How many dead Israelis will it take to condemn Hamas? 1200 murdered is not enough. What atrocities will warrant condemnation? The rape, mutilation and torture of Israelis was not enough. How many victims must there be for this Council to address Palestinian terrorism? A vote yes is a vote for Hamas! A vote yes is a vote for undermining Israel's right to defend itself! A vote yes sends a clear message, me too, unless you’re a Jew!

𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞 As I conclude my tenure as Permanent Representative of Israel to the UN and other (30+ !) International Organizations in Geneva, I reflect on the past four years. I started full of hope, despite landing in Geneva in the midst of the #COVID19 pandemic. In 3 years, we reached an unprecedented level of engagement in the United Nations. We led the adoption of groundbreaking resolutions United Nations_HRC and World Health Organization (WHO), and organized inspiring initiatives with the Abraham Accords countries. Yet, on October 7, everything changed. For me personally, for the State of Israel, and for the Jewish people. The shock and horror of the terrorist attacks still linger. The plight of the hostages and the stories of those who survived do not leave me for a moment. Never have I been so worried by the rising wave of antisemitism across the world. The murderous brutality displayed by Hamas on October 7 and its strategy of hiding behind Palestinian civilians are the reason why Hamas cannot control Gaza. Hamas’ unbounded cruelty and disdain for humanity remain the cause of the tremendous toll this war has had on Israelis and Palestinians alike. I pray for this war to be over soon so that we can all begin to build a better future. The UN and other multilateral bodies failed the State and the people of Israel, and it is currently failing the Jewish people. The attempts to contextualize the atrocities, to blatantly ignore the gender-based violence for months, and to consider the plight of the hostages as a mere footnote in the war that followed, is a stain on the international community. The multilateral world must think how it can deliver better, if it wants to be relevant. In this context, I feel immensely privileged to have led an extraordinary team Israel in UN/Geneva🇮🇱🇺🇳, collaborated with professional and dedicated colleagues, and made true friends along the way. My only objective was to promote and defend my country. I hope I contributed to make Israel ישראל a better place for all its population. It is now time for me to go back home, and reunite with my family and friends. I will continue serving my country Israel ישראלMFA, and work tirelessly to bring the 120 hostages back home too. #HRC55 Over the past two weeks, about 430 people, predominantly #women and schoolchildren, have been abducted in #Nigeria, by Boko Haram and other terrorists. The international community must stand together and demand the immediate and unconditional release of these captives. For Al Qaeda, ISIS, Al Shabab, Boko Haram, and Hamas, the use of hostage taking is not new. 134 Israelis are still being held in #Gaza for the past 5 months. The world must do more to address the scourge of terrorism. We must bring our people home.

In the opening session of #UNGA 1C I reacted to absurd statements detached from reality - statements that ignored and deny the October 7th massacre. Lies & empty words won’t change the reality in the Middle East. Israel will never forget nor stop reminding the world and the UN of the truth.
