In Canada, we have a plan. I’ve spoken with President Biden’s team, Secretary Blinken, and new voices in the U.S. administration. Our Cabinet Committee on Canada-U.S. Relations is back at work, focused on protecting Canadian interests in trade, investment and our shared border.

The civilians in Rafah are people— they are mothers, children. They have names, stories— and they exist. Asking them to move again is unacceptable. They have nowhere to go. We need a hostage deal, for more humanitarian aid to enter Gaza and we need a sustainable ceasefire.

We urge Israel to refrain from a full-scale operation in Rafah. The impact on over one million civilians seeking refuge—many being women &amp; children, would be devastating. We continue to call for an urgent humanitarian ceasefire, for all hostages to be released &amp; for more aid.
