Highest ranked Captain Falcon player in the world, 🥚🐶 | Salt, doubles down on the mockery of Charlie Kirk's death. Salt is legitimately outraged by the fact that there are people within the melee community who believe that Kirk's death was a bad thing, and repeatedly says that "it's amazing" that so many people within the community are mocking his death. Salt goes on to say that they wouldn't feel bad if any of the participants of Mana Monthly, a tournament series for wrongfully banned players, were to die, before stating that Kirk's children (a 3 year old daughter and 1 year old son) should have felt bad about having a "grifter" as a father.

Dangerously based rant from Weston Dennis in which he calls out slime for maliciously painting Hax to be mentally unstable, causing a significant portion of the community to turn against him, as well as brushing off Wes' legitimate criticisms of Slime's behavior as nothing more than the ramblings of a drunken lunatic. Wes also calls out ludwig for enabling mang0's alcoholism and inappropriate behavior, while not taking any accountability for his involvement in the incident.

Cody "I DID NOT have sex with my mother" Schwab states that, if TOs do not ban mang0, he will boycott each and every one of their events. Furthermore, he adds that TOs should be stripped of their power if they do not ban mang0. Cody says that this situation is just too important, and it would be a slap in the face of Hax$ and his mother if mang0 were not banned. Where was this energy when Hax was alive, Cody? Why are boycotts only in the discussion now that mang0 acted like a disgusting, drunken fool on livestream, as opposed to when Hax was literally pleading for his life to anyone that would listen? Anyway, Cody suggests a minimum 1 year ban + proof of rehabilitation. He also, once again, gives Technicals 👾 his flowers - stating that "certain Youtubers" are correct in asserting that the Melee community has a problem with "playing favorites" , ie. top player privilege. Tipped Off tournament organizer who permanently banned Hax, Chandler Browning, complains about the online pushback in regards to community issues, and the want for these issues to be discussed and dealt with publicly. Ohan declares: "Not everyone who plays melee is a part of the melee community" stating that many of the people who discuss the game and community issues online aren't actually melee players, but rather, they're just "weird Technicals people." To remedy this, Ohan advocates for a "Melee Social Credit Score" to determine if your voice matters or not.

Professional victim 🥚🐶 | Salt accuses Technicals 👾 of producing a "biased hit piece", even though Salt claims to have not seen the video, because Technicals didn't personally DM Salt to ask why they mocked the death of Charlie Kirk, or laughed at the thought of fellow community members being assassinated. Salt attempts to justify the politicization of the smash community, citing the large number of LGBT community members, before stating that those who want smash to remain apolitical are just "privileged" - specifically privileged straight white men. Salt then contradicts themselves, now claiming that the politicization is coming from transphobic chuds instead.

This is what Smash Sisters looked like in 2017. The recent attention that Smash Sisters has gotten, has made me realize that I had almost entirely forgotten that this group even exists. Smash Sisters events used to be scheduled into the streaming blocks of major tournaments. They had crew battles on the big stage streamed live in front of thousands of people. You could literally see top melee players in the crowd supporting these events, as evidenced in this video. So... why is it that we now only hear faint whispers of these events through locked down social media posts like this one? What happened? Simply - The group of people that Smash Sisters was created in order to platform and protect no longer exists within the melee community, at least not to a meaningful degree, and they have been replaced by an entirely different group of people. To deny that is to deny reality. This is not a hateful message. This is not a bigoted message. It is a truthful and well-meaning one. As stated in this video by the founders of Smash Sisters, the group was created in order to grow the melee scene by providing an incentive for women to sign up for smash events. That incentive being community. Comradery. By lowering the barrier of entry, it allows an opportunity for growth - particularly for those women who had an interest in smash, but lacked a support system, or for women who had qualms about signing up for a tournament, going 0-2, and then sitting around for three days by themselves. It was an inherently inclusive endeavor, and a net positive on the community. Now, Smash Sisters is completely unrecognizable. It is a pale imitation of what it once was, and was meant to be. Their events are, almost entirely, transgender exclusive - run by and competed in by individuals who regularly and openly advocate for violence, attempt to silence any and all criticism of the group in its current iteration, and call for the removal of individuals from the melee community who do not agree with their personal beliefs and ideologies. It is, now, inherently exclusionary and polarizing, and conceivably off-putting to those very same women for whom Smash Sisters was created in the first place.

Financially irresponsible smash player Cody Schwab crashes out over fellow community member Mono criticizing him for his constant negativity regarding the community, his frequent belittlement of his fellow competitors, and his extremely inconsistent and public claims about his financial situation. After some back and forth with Mono, Cody doubles down on the negativity, stating that Collision was a joke of a tournament, and calling his fellow top players "shit at the game" before stating that they are coddled by the community. After Cody cites his poor financial situation as the reason to why he couldn't attend Collision, Mono brings up Cody's recent contradiction to this claim, in which Cody explicitly stated that he was not "broke." Cody becomes enraged at this rebuttal, times out Mono from the chat, and screams at Mono for being so fucked up as to invoke Cody's own public statements about his finances, while repeatedly telling Mono him to go fuck himself. Cody then states that he will be blacklisting Mono from his upcoming educational smash project, before accusing Mono of stealing content from his girlfriend, while Mono is timed out and can't defend himself from this accusation.

Legitimately brave and based take from n0ne here. He states that the melee community has lost it's sense of integrity, and suggests that melee likely suffers from lack of sponsorships and outside intervention, due to the community's insistence on modding the game, controllers, and other peripherals. N0ne states that melee is in it's "Diva Era" and the community suffers from elitism, such as the top players receiving special treatment and being removed from the general playerbase.

In regards to the recent Z jump discussion, Cody "I'll be speaking to my attorneys" Schwab spent several hours discussing the topic on reddit, because he deleted Twitter from his phone due to the recent criticisms of his character. In his posting, he stated that if he were to switch off of Z jump, he likely would not place in tournaments for 2 months, and therefore would be unable to pay his bills. Despite this, Cody reinstalled Twitter just to announce that he did indeed take a vacation to France. The narrative around his finances keeps getting murkier and more convoluted. Cody's brief Twitter break didn't stop him from engaging in the Z jump debate, however, as he went into n0ne's stream to call his takes "insane" , accuse n0ne of spreading misinformation, and demand that they speak in private about the issue. Then, Cody's girlfriend showed up in chat to accuse n0ne of discrediting Cody's wins because he uses Z jump.

Salt's response. After this, Salt went into another streamer's chat, and whined about how they *really* tried to reach out to the other side - as if Salt hasn't spent the entire year crashing out, blocking anyone and everyone who criticizes, and ultimately blaming it all on racism/transphobia. I'm blocked by Salt on Twitter, and banned from their Twitch chat, even though I've never typed a single message. I have to open an incognito tab just to watch the stream.
