The A-10 Warthog is one of those aircraft that never needed to be pretty. It just needed to look like it meant business. This clip has everything: a Warthog coming straight at the camera loaded under the wings, banking low, releasing a munition… then an abrupt cut to a U.S.-flagged warship with a massive explosion in the water. Some of this looks like it could be CGI or simulation footage, so I wouldn’t mistake it for verified combat footage. Still, whoever put this together understood one thing: If you want aviation people to stop scrolling, put an A-10 on the screen.

Every tradesman or serious DIY guy who’s ever fought with a job that just won’t stay put. You’re trying to hold two pieces at a weird angle, the clamp won’t reach, the drill bit wanders, and you’re one slip away from ruining the whole run. Then you see a guy rig a ratchet strap to lock it solid, use two speed squares as a guide, or turn a damn cotton swab into a precision lube applicator. That quiet “son of a bitch… that’s brilliant” moment when a $2 fix saves you an hour and a half of cursing. I’ve been in this game long enough to know the best tools in your box are usually the ones you didn’t buy.

Every guy who’s ever hung upper cabinets just watched this and whispered “where the hell was that tool 10 years ago.” Meanwhile half the comments are acting like it’s cheating instead of realizing construction spent 80 years turning two-man jobs into chiropractor appointments. One laser line, one support arm, and suddenly the install doesn’t involve balancing 90 pounds of cabinet on your forehead while your buddy says “hold on I almost got it.”

You can joke about the U.S. military all day until you realize somewhere there’s a guy whose Tuesday involved jumping out of a plane, landing, carrying 80 lbs, then repeating it because he was one second slow. That level of repetition is hard to even picture until you see clips stacked together like this.

The first project hooked me, but the one thing I kept thinking wasn't about concrete. It was time. None of these ideas looked outrageously complicated. Pour the forms. Stack the blocks. Shape the concrete. Add the finishing touches. The hard part is finding three uninterrupted hours where nobody needs you, your phone stays quiet, and another project doesn't suddenly become more important. That's the real DIY tax. I already spotted a couple ideas I'd steal. The concrete pathway looked great, and that bicycle tire stepping stone was a lot more creative than I expected. The best part of videos like this isn't copying everything. It's finding one or two ideas that make you look around your own yard and think... I could actually build that this weekend. Assuming life doesn't have other plans.

Ever wonder why Air Force One often has F-16s flying alongside it? The fighters aren't there for show. They're part of a layered security plan that provides rapid response to unidentified aircraft, extra eyes in the sky, and an immediate defensive capability if the situation changes. Most presidential flights don't require fighter escorts from takeoff to landing, but they can be launched quickly whenever the threat level, airspace, or mission calls for it. When you see the escort, you're watching one of the most visible parts of an otherwise largely invisible security operation.

I had never read Red Skelton's thoughts on the Pledge of Allegiance until today. With America celebrating its 250th birthday this Fourth of July, this feels like something worth reading. If you have children or grandchildren, I'm going to pass it on to mine, and I hope you'll consider passing it on to yours. The ending is worth every word.

The military didn't officially name it the "Warthog." The people who flew it did. The A-10's bulky nose, hunched profile, and all-business design reminded crews of a warthog, and the nickname spread until it became part of aviation history. Sometimes the names that stick are the ones earned in the field.
