Rain is on the way from Monday afternoon, bringing a change after recent dry weather 🌧️ The wettest conditions are likely in western and northern areas, while parts of the south and southeast may miss out on the higher totals.

Heavy rain across Wales and the Midlands first thing on Friday, this turning more showery as it clears southwards🌧️ Brighter skies further north with sunny spells and scattered showers, these most frequent in Scotland🌦️ Windy in the north with local gales and feeling fresher.

Friday will be a windy day in northern areas with wind gusts of 35-45 mph widely🌬️ Pennine regions will see strong westerly winds at times with isolated gusts reaching 55 mph. Cross winds will affect routes such as the A1 and may result in locally difficult driving conditions.

A wet evening rush hour for Northern Ireland and southern Scotland, with the rain turning heavier as it moves into northern England and north Wales. Heavy blustery showers in northwest Scotland and locally damp in southwest England too. A warm and humid end to the day for most.

Low pressure is set to make its presence felt across the south, bringing heavy rain, a risk of thunderstorms and some notably stronger winds ⛈️ Coasts and hilly areas could see gusts reaching 40 to 45 mph 🌬️

As high pressure shifts, the warmest weather will move westwards Brisk easterly winds also develop, bringing cooler conditions in the south and east Strong winds at times around southern coasts can create hazards in the water, so stay safe if you're heading to the beach 🌊
