In the 3rd verse he literally starts flowing off-beat on purpose to catch up, while rapping about the instruments on the track being scared 😭 “Chasing the hi-hat all other the track, the snare is scared of the air in here” And then that second verse is mind blowing too. The “I’m so far ahead of my time im about to start another life” scheme, into the nutty “did it” flow at the end. Jay is a monster. It’s so funny to watch people downplay his ability like their favs could ever do this. And the rhyme schemes on this track are brilliant too

i think drake is very underrated as a rapper but when you look back at old kendrick and j cole freestyles it makes you realise how far ahead they are at actually RAPPING. the type of rhyme schemes they make seem effortless are more complex than drakes best rhymes
