I went to the Sleep Inn Hotel in Sheepshead Bay today because the silence from the city is unacceptable. This site was used during the migrant crisis under Mayor Adams, and at the time, we were told these were temporary measures. Now, instead of returning these locations back to their intended use, we’re seeing them quietly transition into homeless shelters, without informing the people who actually live here. Let’s be clear: this is a residential neighborhood. Families live here. People deserve to know what’s happening in their own backyard. And yet neither I nor my office have received any official communication about what this building is currently being used for or what the plan is moving forward. That’s why I’ve taken action. I sent a formal letter to the DSS Commissioner demanding a full accounting of all these sites, inside and outside my district. Where are they? What are they being used for? And why is the public being kept in the dark? The Commissioner confirmed receipt and promised a follow-up. Now we’re going to hold them to it. Enough with the backroom decisions. Enough with the lack of transparency. My community deserves answers, and I’m not going anywhere until we get them.

Read this carefully: “May the Almighty rain down all misfortunes upon your heads, Jews! May all horrors continue upon all your descendants, future generations.” The person who said this is being welcomed to perform in Brooklyn, in the Oceana Theater on Brighton Beach, in the heart of our Jewish community, on the 9th of May. We asked for an apology. She refused. Now we’re demanding action. I’ve sent a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio calling for her visa to be revoked and her entry denied. Join me, my colleagues, and Nassau County Executive and gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman on Monday, the 4th of May, at 11 AM outside the Oceana Theater, for a press conference on this matter. We will not tolerate this. Period.

Jewish New Yorkers should not have to hide their Stars of David, tuck away their kippahs, or fear walking their own streets. That's why today I called on the U.S. Department of Justice to open a civil rights investigation into New York City, New York State, and Mayor Zohran Mamdani. If the DOJ stepped in to protect Jewish students at Columbia, it must now step in to protect Jewish New Yorkers.

This Sunday, I will not be attending the Holocaust Memorial Committee's event in Holocaust Memorial Park. I cannot support the decision to make Phylisa Wisdom, a senior appointee in Zohran Mamdani's administration, the keynote speaker at a Holocaust remembrance ceremony. The Holocaust Memorial Park is sacred ground. The memory of six million murdered Jews deserves better. I urge members of our community to boycott this event. Watch my full message.

A 17-year-old boy's life was changed forever after a brutal attack at Manhattan Beach Park. Valentyn Boiko suffered devastating injuries, including the permanent loss of vision in one eye. I visited Valentyn and his family to hear directly from him about what happened. In this video, he describes the attackers and some details of the attack itself. About a year and a half ago, I stood at this exact location, the Sleep Inn in Sheepshead Bay, demanding answers from the city when it was being used as a migrant shelter. Fast forward to today: the site is now being used as a homeless shelter, and once again, there has been zero transparency. No notice to my office. No outreach to the community. No answers. That’s why I came back. And that’s why I’ve formally sent a letter to DHS demanding full transparency. We are asking simple, reasonable questions: What is this site being used for? What is the long-term plan? How many people are being housed here? Why has the community been kept in the dark, again? And how many sites like this is the city hiding from us in Southern Brooklyn? This is a residential neighborhood. People deserve to know what’s happening where they live. I will keep pushing until we get answers.
