I took this video back on June 9th in North Dakota - it is a horseshoe vortex being ingested into a storm’s updraft base - I’ve never seen that happen before until this instance

I’ve seen a lot of comparisons between Ashby 2020 and Gary 2025, both before the event and after - I think it’s safe to say that Gary beats Ashby by quite a fair margin, both from the actual tornado to the meteorological setup itself (see the tornadoes that happened before Gary and further east into Minnesota) - as for myself though, I did a far better job forecasting and chasing Ashby - the anniversary isn’t too far away so here’s a video of Ashby - I so wish I had forecasted Gary better so I could’ve gotten better footage of it, but still unbelievably happy to have seen it -

12 years and 2 days ago to the minute, a tornado anniversary I’ll never forget, my first time seeing a significant tornado (probably an EF5) this is the Coleridge, Nebraska tornado from June 17th, 2014 - they don’t seem to make them like this anymore
