Like so many others, my memory of September 11, 2001 starts with the blue sky over New York. Twenty-five years later, people still talk about how clear and bright it was. At the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, artist Spencer Finch captures those memories in “Trying to Remember the Color of the Sky on That September Morning” – 2,983 panels, each hand-painted a different shade of blue, one for each person killed in the 2001 and 1993 attacks on the World Trade Center. It’s powerful, and if you’re in New York City, I hope you’ll come see it.

As Bloomberg marks 30 years of work and collaboration in India this year, the Bloomberg New Economy Forum is convening business, government, and finance leaders from around the world in New Delhi. We're looking forward to far-reaching conversations about energy, AI, geopolitics, and more as we gather together in one of the world's most dynamic major economies.

Ten years after the Paris Agreement, the clean energy transition that once seemed out of reach is becoming a reality. I was honored to join United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres’ Climate Summit during #UNGA81 to speak about how governments, businesses, philanthropies, nonprofits, and communities can work together to accelerate progress ahead of COP31 Türkiye.

Detroit is a great American city — & the perfect place to announce Bloomberg Philanthropies's new partnership with Ford Motor Company, part of our $90 million initiative to train high school students in the skilled trades & create pathways for them to enter rewarding, in-demand careers.

After 9/11, Robert De Niro & jane rosenthal came to City Hall with a bold idea to bring a film festival to Lower Manhattan. It was exactly the kind of optimism NYC needed. 25 years on, Tribeca remains a cornerstone of the neighborhood's revival & a symbol of our city's resilience.

👓 Clear vision. Brighter futures. We've teamed up with @visiontolearn and @warbyparker to bring free vision screenings and eyeglasses to kids who need them in seven new cities across the United States. Because the simplest solution can make the biggest difference.

.Johns Hopkins University opened doors for me, and I'm always glad to meet the next generation of Blue Jays. It was great to talk with Maria Paula Vasini, who's interning at Bloomberg Associates this summer, about my favorite Hopkins memories, how to impress at your first job, & @theBeatles!

The new Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center is designed to foster collaboration between policymakers, faculty, and students and brings Johns Hopkins University' world-class research and expertise to the center of Washington. It will serve as a connecting bridge between both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue, and I can't wait to see the ideas and initiatives that emerge from the leaders who will come together in this space.
