Extraordinary. Angela Rayner appears to suggest that Labour is looking at trying to block the recently announced Reform donations by applying their new electoral law retrospectively. The hypocrisy from Rayner (who only paid her second home stamp duty under the pressure of an HMRC enquiry) and Labour is deafening. If they seriously try to nobble Reform in this way, I suspect they will quickly end up in Court. ….

On 30 July, Wes Streeting told Nick Ferrari of LBC he would resign if Defence wasn’t properly funded and he was careful to say he’d been assured by Healey and Burnham’s it would be. Healey’s credibility is now in tatters. But Streeting’s position is surely untenable?

Here’s Wes Streeting on Sunday, saying he would resign if the necessary funds for Defence weren’t forthcoming. Since then we’ve had nothing but obfuscation and spin on the subject from Streeting, Burnham & Healey. There’s a useful four letter word and they’re all full of it.

A must watch. Centrica’s boss has to deal with idiots like Miliband and the juvenile green/ socialist mob at Westminster, so must choose his words carefully. He wryly points out, if oil producers are already taxed at 80% (when they turn a profit) how can they help with the cost of living? The last Government pandered to the clamour for windfall taxes and both they and Labour have left them in place, destroying the financial incentives for companies to invest in exploration and development of our remaining oil and gas reserves. This and the lunacy of banning fracking must be reversed if we are ever to regain a semblance of energy security.

Boris Johnson’s silly bluster in response Trevor Phillips’ question about immigration exposes his maddening flaws perfectly. First he ducks the question. Then he fibs unashamedly that Reform (aka the Brexit Party) didn’t “do a bean”to get Brexit done. He “forgets” that it was they who got May fired so he could become PM. They also helped him win the 2019 election by standing down in Red Wall seats. As he correctly says, Brexit finally gave us the power to control immigration. But inexplicably he failed to use it. Starmeresque levels of denial.

Burnham’s BS. Victoria Derbyshire asks Burnham 5 times how he would pay to take utilities back into public ownership and 5 times he fails to tell her. This guy hasn’t got a clue what he’d do as PM except speed us back to the 1970s even faster than Starmer is doing.
