BREAKING: Early this morning, the police detained one of the Coalition 4 Change leaders, leader of Girchi-More Freedom party Zurab Girchi Japaridze. This happened on Tamarashvili Avenue, an entire residential district away from the protests. Japaridze was fleeing together with other protesters as he was grabbed, indicating this was a conscious, targeted move by the regime. The police broke the decades-long gentlemen's agreement of borders of protests and crackdowns and chased the remaining protesters from Rustaveli through Chavchavadze Avenue in entire Vake district and to Tamarashvili Avenue, the beginning of Saburtalo district. Tonight was an epic battle of an absolutely determined regime police to prevent us from blocking Rustaveli for the first time with such resolve in the continuous protests, and protesters who zigzagged smartly to quickly show up on the road from slightly distant places and sow chaos, allowing the main mass to take the road. It truly was epic, and it was a celebration of principle. It carried such energy. This is the response to all who thought the Rustaveli protest did not matter. We annoy them, we maintain ground that makes the crisis get deeper. Earlier, several were detained.
