No. 7⃣7⃣ Lyle Alzado, a Denver Bronco DL from 1971–1978, was BOTD in 1949. In 1992, Alzado passed away. DEN drafted Alzado in the 1971 4th round. He was a 1977 1st-team All-Pro/DPOY, 1978 2nd-team All-Pro, and 2× Pro Bowler. Alzado played with a ferocity and tenacity seldom seen.
