Joy Division’s legendary performance of “She’s Lost Control” on the BBC’s Something Else show (recorded Sept 1, 1979, broadcast Sept 15) is one of post-punk’s defining moments. Filmed in a stark, unadorned Manchester studio, this rare national television appearance perfectly captured the bleak beauty, mechanical rhythms, and raw emotional intensity of the band.

"Hong Kong Garden" is the landmark 1978 debut single by English post-punk band Siouxsie and the Banshees. Named after a local Chinese takeaway in Chislehurst, Kent, the song was written as a tribute to its immigrant staff who were frequently harassed by racist skinheads.

New Order’s Blue Monday (1983) wasn’t meant to be a hit — it was made as a track to play after gigs instead of doing encores. Instead, it became the best-selling 12-inch single of all time. That bassline, the drum machine, the sequencers — it changed electronic music forever.
