Hurty words. British police. On active duty. Four officers at my door. Arrested. Locked up. Interviewed. Released on unconditional bail. The allegation I was arrested for on my doorstep was, quote: “Sort of inciting racial hatred due to publishing and distributing sort of public so it’s basically under the Public Order Act.” That jumbled sentence somehow escalated to terrorism, although I haven’t been charged with anything and I’m unclear what I’m actually on bail for. When the officers in custody and my solicitor are laughing with me, that tells you everything about how serious this actually was. Apparently the call came from the inspector, which neatly explains the eye-rolling and shrugged shoulders. I was informed my house was being searched under the Counter-Terrorism Act. My devices were seized. My passport was seized. They were looking for bombs. Or bomb-making equipment. Spoiler: they didn’t find a bomb factory hidden behind my Ninja air fryer. Naturally you’re wondering which of my many posts finally pushed me into “terrorist” territory. Out of everything I post, this one was taken out of context and reported by one man. One man, with the most British name imaginable, walked into a police station and claimed he feared for his life because he believed I was going to “blow up the local mosque”. That’s it. That’s the entire story. The screenshot shown is the original post, included here purely for context. It remains live and public, and I have not been asked to remove it. Additionally for context, over 2.1 million people have viewed my Facebook profile recently. One person equals 0.0000476% of that audience. And yet here we are. Imagine being so emotionally fragile that words on Facebook transform someone else into a terrorist suspect. I’m genuinely impressed by the confidence. Honestly, I assume he’s ginger and just took it a bit too personally. Anyway. I’ll be adding Imaginary Danger Scientist to my CV. Top work, North Wales Police. Keeping the nation safe.
