Clueless, earnest, and stupidly enthusiastic about wrestling narrative. I gif what makes me happy to look at. Mithgifs on other platforms too.

The Architect, a thread. After the events of WrestleMania 40, many people remember Seth telling Cody he'll be his shield back in February, which is exactly what happened. But there's another line in that promo that explains even more about his actions at WrestleMania.

I mean, absolutely superhuman reserves of anti-giggling willpower in both of these men.

I'm loving Sami's new take on his heel work, moving from the deluded, kinda goofy conspiracy-theory heel to something much more serious and grounded. (Suffice to say, "Nobody gets theirs until I get mine" is... not considered a fundamental tenet of social justice).

Kevin's not sure why people keep coming to him for advice on how to be "a heel," since he's just always right, but he will do his best to help!

He knows Roman will not be able to resist re-enacting that moment once more, this time as the aggressor. The Architect knows how to find the flaw in the foundation of the Bloodline and do what's necessary to bring down the monster he helped create. He was Cody's shield.

Sami's facial expressions here--how he swings from screaming fury to crinkle-eyed delight with no transition at all--are part of what makes his recent work so good and give his character a particularly dangerous undertone.

The precision in these last few seconds of the match was amazing (and although this is the replay, not the aired version, it's also all one shot, which is great!)

I know Cena is kind of infamous for obviously calling audibles, but as a person who enjoys glimpsing the nuts and bolts of a wrestling match I often enjoy that--like here, where you can see Cena take in the "RKO" chants and decide on the fly to work one in with Sami.

👀👀👀On LFG, Kevin comes quite close to taking a bump while coaching, and is clearly itching to get back into action in the ring.

The final agonizing payoff for the months and months of Sami Zayn's over-the-top raging backstage: when he loses the title and you expect him to flip out... and instead he quietly crumples inward into heartbroken sobs.

I can't even begin to tell you how hard that "until the day I die and beyond" hit me after all these years of rooting for him. The weight of it. Or the way his voice cracks on the "Grand Slam champion." It means the world.
