It’s the man, not the machine. This classic dogfight is a reminder of that maxim. A French Rafale earns a win in a hard-fought set against an American F-22. Below 15,000 feet, all modern 9G-sustaining fighters become man, not machine. Let the debate begin. Pictures and stories welcome.

Here's the official NASA video of STS-125. Sadly, the video is too grainy to make out my wife and me, but it certainly ups the nostalgia factor. The close ups really show the grace of the worlds fastest glider returning to Earth. Share your favorite Shuttle memories.👇

It's hard to comprehend how steep and how fast a Shuttle approach was. We used to joke if you dropped a brick midfield from the same height of the Shuttle, the Shuttle would beat it to the ground, and it was true. This cockpit video makes it real. Who's wants to do that?🙋♂️

Russian Pilot: "Hold my vodka." Proceeds to "thump" our B-52 nose at 100 ft while lighting the burners. Because nothing says "professional intercept" like almost turning a Stratofortress into a convertible. #Aviation #B52 #Russianintercept #UnsafeIntercept #MilitaryAviation Grok

Here’s the finale, National Anthem with B-1 Flyby. I don’t care about the lack of B-1 footage, the Anthem followed by the roar of 4 F101 engines is enough for this former B-1 officer. Cynical Publius and Rob Maness we got our B-1 flyover! Thank you Gents!

If you thought the external view was great — wait until you see it from inside the jet. Watch how the pilot works the jet through the loop, pulling some nice vapor along the way. Enjoy the Welsh countryside passing behind the canopy. Share your thoughts.👇

Holy crosswind Batman! Yes, you saw that right — the B-52 lands fully crabbed into the crosswind. Most airplanes crab, then kick to a slip just before touchdown. The BUFF rotates the main gear to align with the runway and rides the crab all the way down. It’s a bit disconcerting the first time you’re looking out a side window with the cockpit way off the centerline. It grows on you after a while. And the de-crab on taxi feels downright weird. Most of the time I was in the back with no windows and never noticed. The few times I sat in the IP jump seat and watched it happen were eye-opening. 👀 Who thinks they could do it?

If you thought that view was good — wait till you see this 👇 Sadly it’s the Lake District instead of the Mach Loop, but the in-cockpit footage is no less impressive. The formation flies low through the lakes and valleys, giving you that true cockpit feeling. Who wants to do that?

This takes the cake for the SOTU address. Korean War fighter pilot awarded the Medal of Honor at age 100.

Great one Christopher Wipper , awesome throwback to some classic big flight tests at my old stomping grounds. That video wouldn't complete without the one that shows why it was such a big test. Separating the 170,000 lb. Orbiter mid-flight is one of the most iconic tests from Edwards.👇
