Re: Christopher Ewert whose #UFC317 fight was canceled earlier today: His coach Javier Torres tells me Ewert got the UFC call at 1:30 on Tuesday. He weighed 217 then and got down to 195 between fight week obligations. Eventually, his body stopped cooperating and the remaining pounds wouldn’t come off despite workouts, sauna, etc. The UFC stepped in around 9:15 and canceled the fight. It’s unclear what’s next. Ewert was scheduled for DWCS vs. Yuri Panferov on Aug. 12. It’s unclear if Ewert will be reinserted there or not.
