The whole reason Jason Seibel and I rewrote Postgres in Rust is we wanted a way to prevent the types of bugs you see in C One guarantee we were able to encode in Rust is that an allocation can't outlive the memory context it was created in. Postgres has no safeguards to prevent this, but in pgrust, Rust will prevent this from happening
