Ok, I quite liked New Delhi Times. But I have one question: did bars like this actually exist in 1980s Delhi? and were journalists meeting their sources there 🤨 The film nails so much about the business of news, politics, the pulls and pressures. Honestly, better than any journo movie we’ve had in years. My fave dialogue? A scene where the editor wrestles with that quintessential doubt: what real difference is he making to the world with his journalism. And his photojournalist friend responds: “Tumhaari mushkil pata hai kya hai… tum log editorial main cheenk te ho…aur chahte ho sarkaar ho zukhaam ho jaaye.” 👏🏽

Ramit Verma, behind Official PeeingHuman, picked up near CP inner circle. Basant Kumar and Avdhesh Kumar were there when this happened — they say groups of right-wing men roaming the area, are singling out students & protesters affiliated with Left unions. Ramit was similarly targeted — you can hear them say that he was trying to burn the shops (total nonsense) — and the security personnel just take Ramit away. So protestors in twos and threes are being detained but full freedom for rw men targeting people. It is not clear which organisations these men belong to.
