The greatest play a Twins SS has ever made… #WeBelieveinTC

Wayne Gretzky turns 65 today…Neal Broten doesn’t care…

Metrodome Memories: Getting blown out of the stadium!

Next year will be the 30th anniversary of the Gophers run to the Final Four. It needs to be celebrated by the Minnesota Men's Basketball program and the banner needs to be put back up. Niko Medved

This is a swing & yes, the game should’ve been over…

The great Mike Redmond turns 52 today…his 2009 triple is still legendary! #MNTwins

July 19, 1984: A Twins triple play. Great play by Gaetti!

1973: Dave Winfield as a Golden Gopher legging out a triple. Imagine being a college infielder seeing him coming at you.

Frankie Rodriguez turns 52 today. He struggled being effective with the Twins, but I remember him adhering to the code of the day in 1995 when he retaliated after Puckett was hit in the face by hitting Albert Belle who said, “If it was anyone, but Kirby I’d kill you.”

1980: The Russian feed of Mike Eruzione’s winning goal against the Soviets. It’s a bit more subdued…

1983: The Soviet Union wears out the North Stars with a brilliant power play…

1980: The final two minutes of The Miracle on Ice as broadcast in Russia. Even the Soviet announcer is anticipating they’ll pull their goalie…never happens. USA 4 USSR 3 🇺🇸

Today in 2010: Denard Span is up with the bases loaded in the 5th inning. He already has two triples & is looking for a MLB record third…

1980: The Soviets reaction after losing 4-3…

OTD in 2002 Torii Hunter made one of the greatest catches in All Star Game history.

On this date in 1980 a miracle happened…the United States hockey team defeated the Soviet Union. Al Michaels and Ken Dryden were brilliant on the call.

Six qualified players in all of MLB are hitting above .300. Just six. I miss high batting averages… @stoetersports video

45 years ago today: The final two minutes as Team USA tries to hang on against the tiring Soviet Union…

OTD in 1980 the USSR defeated the Netherlands 17-4 in Lake Placid. Here are the first seven goals of that “contest.”

The 1975 Gopher basketball team does their pregame warmup routine.

Today in 2017: Bartolo Colon at age 44 becomes the oldest Senators/Twins pitcher to pitch a complete game. It was an Incredible 106 pitch performance.

1986: Bob Horner was so shocked when Al Newman hit a HR…he decided to hit 4 HRs…in the same game. Last one was off Jeff Reardon. RIP Mr. Horner. From 1976-1986 he SLG’d .508 which was 6th highest in MLB (min 3,000 PAs).

Royce Lewis…really thought he’d be the next great Twin. Super attitude, loved his positivity, had some big moments at the plate and now he’s a .230 hitter who struggles to make contact and has 1.4 WAR since 2023. What happened?

Today in 2010 the Vikings lost the NFC Championship game despite outgaining New Orleans 475 yards to 257. They turned the ball over five times, Adrian Peterson fumbled three times and this miscue still rankles me as much as Favre’s blunder…

OTD in 1990: Kirby Puckett’s only plate appearance in the All Star Game is memorable. #MNTwins

The 1975 Golden Gophers continue their warmups…this is amazing…remember the opposing team is warming up at the other basket 🤣

On Rob Deer’s podcast “Rooster Crows” Dan Gladden explains in detail the Steve Lombardozzi situation that led to them both fighting in his front yard on this day in 1988.

OTD 1980 Team USA played the minor league Dallas Blackhawks. The 10-6 win probably displeased Herb Brooks, but it was the 40th win of their 61 game pre Olympic schedule. It was their 1st game without Ralph Cox who was the final cut a few days before. His words:

The final seconds of the Miracle on Ice…the gold medal was theirs on this date in 1980. 🇺🇸
