Japan will continue to support multilateralism with the United Nations at its core, and will remain committed to achieving diplomatic goals that cannot be realized by a single country, as well as to addressing challenges shared by the international community.

![[FM MOTEGI's visit to the United States] -Message from Washington, D.C. - I have just arrived in Washington, D.C., in the United States. My flight left Haneda Airport at 10:30 p.m. on the 18th. However, it is still just past 11 p.m. on the 18th here, because of the 13-hours time difference between Tokyo and Washington, D.C. and the 13-hours flight time. This year marks the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States. Tomorrow, a Japan-U.S. summit meeting will be held, which I will attend. At the summit meeting, in light of the severe international situation and the security environment surrounding Japan, we will demonstrate both domestically and internationally a robust Japan-U.S. Alliance. We also intend to confirm our cooperation in a wide range of areas, including energy security and economic security, such as critical minerals. Furthermore, as this year marks the 10th anniversary since the proposal of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP)”, I would like to reaffirm the shared commitment of Japan and the United States to this vision.
