Brooke Goldstein sat on a CNN panel and did the one thing that table almost never allows. She spoke as someone who actually went. Two years in and out of Jenin, Ramallah, Tulkarem, and Nablus. Interviews with Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, not through a press release and not through a translator who works for the story. They told her to her face that they want war. That is not a talking point she invented in a green room. That is what they said. The rest of the table looked the way people look when the script gets interrupted. They have never been in Samaria or Judea. They have never watched the propaganda machine operate on the ground and then come home to hear it repeated as news. They sit on a sofa in a studio and decide what Israel is allowed to do, while the people who have been there keep getting treated as the problem for noticing that this is an ideology that teaches children to love death and then parks those children in front of the launcher. She said the quiet part without raising her voice. It is not only Hamas. It is what the schools print. It is what the commanders admit. It is why there can be food in the Strip and still be starvation, because Hamas treats the warehouse the same way it treats the tent. CNN will air the clip, then go back to calling itself journalism, and still act wounded the next time someone says the network is selling a product instead of a report. I spent over two decades in counterterrorism and I’m still involved in many ways, so here are my views on what I see has happened over the past 24-36 hours in the UK: Five British men in their twenties were arrested on Sunday near RAF Fairford on suspicion of explosives offences and the preparation of a terrorist act. On Monday they were released on police bail. That’s not what the terrorism clock looks like when the investigators are still in charge of it. Under ordinary UK criminal law a suspect can be held for 24 hours, stretched to 36 by a superintendent, and to 96 hours by a magistrate. But under section 41 of the Terrorism Act the first hold is 48 hours, not 24 hours. A judge can then extend it, in stages, up to 14 days without a charge. If the case merits it, it can even be pushed to 28 days. That 14-day cap exists for exactly this kind of file of vans, an airbase the United States uses, a possible foreign hand, explosives (if there were any) and interviews that are not finished on the first night. Counter-terrorism police said the inquiry isn’t over. They said conditions apply. They said a state link has not been ruled out. Those sentences he said only make sense if the evidence trail was still live. A live trail is why Parliament built the two-week window. But watching the guy read out the statement showed me in his body language, tone and eye movements that releasing those five men was NOT his or his department’s decision. Walking five men after roughly a day is what you do with a pub fight, not with a suspected terrorist attack on a bomber base. I’ve sat in enough interrogation rooms to know the difference between a custody clock and a political ceiling. Nobody had to shout an order down a phone. Someone in the political building above the investigators decided that charging British nationals on Monday, with Iran already denying it, Washington watching the runway, and a Labour conference where the main topics of discussion were prioritizing Palestinian and other refugees settling in the UK, was uglier than bail and a holding statement. The law allowed them to keep the door shut. Yet the door opened anyway in half of the most minimum time. That’s the story. That for me is the only story here. Not “they were innocent.” Not “the case collapsed.” The statute was not exhausted, but the appetite was. The real question is who, and most importantly, why?

She told her mother they were going to rape her. The men in the car talked about marrying her off. She asked only that the four of them be kept together. They were. A schoolteacher who was also Hamas held them, after a tunnel, in an apartment, dressed as civilians so the street would not see Israelis. Fifty-one days. Released on November 26, 2023, moved from car to car through a crowd she thought was going to lynch them, and home to a house with two of them missing. That is the footage the argument always omits. This isn’t a leaflet. And it isn’t a border dispute. She was a 17-year-old taken from the room where her father and sister had just been killed, with two little boys, into a home in Gaza, by people the marches across London, Paris and New York still call resistance. She’s the one narrating it. The film doesn’t need a caption.

On December 1, 1945, the US Army did this once already. Nazi General Anton Dostler had ordered the killing of 15 American soldiers captured in Italy in 1944. He was tried, convicted, and shot by a military firing squad, and the Army filmed it. They filmed it because that was the most public thing they could do. Had there been an internet in 1945, that film would have been the stream. It would be worth Pete Hegseth moving the date two days, to December 1. Same method, same anniversary, on the post where Hasan did it himself. That would be the statement. The US Army treats the Islamonazi who murdered American soldiers the way it treated the Nazi who ordered American soldiers murdered. It’s not a new idea. It’s the old one, with a link. This is the tape people quoting the 1967 lines never play. You simply have to watch this. Seeing this footage and hearing the words spoken directly by the Arabs in their own voice just blew me away, especially the Saudi King. This is some of the most unbelievable old footage that every western leader needs to watch, and every Arab country except the UAE wishes was never published. If you want to understand why I believe Saudi are as evil now as they were then, it’s because MBS speaks with the same tongue. In the weeks before the Six-Day War, Nasser threw the UN force out of Sinai, closed the Straits of Tiran, and told the Arab world the point was no longer the straits or Syria but turning the clock back twenty years, to before Israel existed. Kuwait, Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco pledged their armies to the United Command. Jordan’s ties to Iraq and Saudi Arabia were there to put more men and tanks on Israel’s border. King Hussein and Abdel Nasser, Syria and Iraq, and the crowds were sure they were going to war and sure they were going to win. King Faisal of Saudi Arabia, a bitter opponent of Nasser, joined anyway. Asked if Saudi Arabia would go to war against Israel, he said they were ready to go to the furthest extremity. Asked what sequence of events he wanted to see in the Middle East, he said the first thing is the extermination of Israel. Radio Cairo then broadcast into Israel, in Hebrew, that they would kill them all and torch them. There was no Israeli television in 1967, so Israelis watched Egyptian television and saw the street celebrations, Nasser with his MiG-21 pilots, and the tanks moving into Sinai. The Arab press ran the caricatures of Jews crushed and pierced. Rabbis consecrated parks as mass graveyards. Civilians gave blood and dug trenches. A mother in that footage says she had already decided that if they were conquered she would turn on the gas so her children would not fall into their hands. General Shlomo Gazit, head of Israeli military intelligence research in 1967, says they had gone back to the days of the War of Independence, a threat of annihilation, and the Jews panicked. That is what the 1967 lines were. Armistice lines from a war the Arab states started to erase the country, not a border anybody agreed, and not a map a moderate Saudi Arabia was standing apart from. Faisal was in it. The words are on the tape. The first war was to annihilate Israel, the second was to exterminate it, and in 1973 the Syrian army came down off the Golan far enough that the general staff thought the state was in danger of being destroyed. A Palestinian state on those lines is not a flag and a parliament. At the narrowest point that line sits about nine to fifteen miles from the sea, on the high ground overlooking Tel Aviv, the airport, and the road that holds the country together, with Gaza on the other side. Put an armed faction in both places, the kind that already ran Gaza after Israel left in 2005, and you’ve built the encirclement those wars failed to finish, with half of Jerusalem thrown in. Jordan held that half from 1948 to 1967 and emptied the Jewish Quarter. Nobody who watches this tape, and watched the events of October 7, signs that map and calls it peace. There can never and will never be a Two State Solution, because the Arab intention to genocide the Jews in 1948 and 1967 is exactly the same as it is today.

Everyone is sharing the satellite pictures of Rafah and calling the rubble the whole story. Nobody is showing you what was under it. This is Rafah. The red lines are the tunnel network Hamas built under the neighborhoods, and the video marks where it runs under stadiums, under mosques, under schools, under UNRWA compounds, under hospitals, under civilian homes. The overhead is an illustration. The shafts and the corridors are not. The IDF filmed inside them. Concrete arches, bunks, stored gear, a city under the city, dug so the people above it could be used as the roof. That’s why the blocks came down. You can’t leave a fortified tunnel grid under a border town and call the houses above it civilian. Hamas put the war under the kitchens and the classrooms on purpose, then sent the pictures of the kitchens and the classrooms around the world. The satellite image is the surface. The reason is underneath it. Gaza wasn’t destroyed because Israel felt like it. It was destroyed because the Islamic army that started the war built its base under the people it claims to defend, and then refused to come out.

People drove out to the western Negev to hear a DJ and stand under cheap colored shade and drink from red fridges that still say Coca-Cola in the frame. By the time this camera is moving, the music is gone and the only question left on the audio is whether anyone lying there can still signal that they are alive. I’ve watched a lot of October 7 footage, hours of it, most of it unpublicized due to the severity of the imagery and the families not wanting it out there, and I still cannot get used to how ordinary the ground looks. Plastic chairs. A leopard-print bag by an open car door. A poster about being environmentally friendly. Then the bodies in the same dirt, and soldiers walking the same ground because the people who did this had already left with the ones they wanted alive. Propagandists talk about this day as being just “chaos” and “both sides” and a raid that got a little out of hand. This is not that. This is what a massacre looks like when it is finished with a field and has not yet finished with the country. This is what intent to kill anyone and everyone looks like. They came for civilians at a festival. Young unarmed students. That is the whole sentence. Everything after it is commentary.

Cleared for Publication: This is an IDF drone over central Gaza, cleared for release, and it is not ambiguous. A child is walking weapons down a residential street in Central Gaza and taking it into a civilian house. Laundry hanging in the window. Ordinary street. That’s the point. They do this because they’ve learned the only rule that matters to them. Put the rifles on a child and the jet won’t fire. Park the rifle in a family home and the next headline writes itself if that house is ever touched. The child is not an accident in the plan. The child IS the plan. They turn their own kids into couriers so that when the weapon is found later, the world can scream that Israel bombed a home and killed children. I have zero patience left for the people who watch this and still talk about “innocent civilians” as if the neighborhood is unaware. They ALL know. They have ALWAYS known. This is how they fight. They hide the war inside a child and then demand you treat the child as proof that you’re the monster. That’s not resistance. That’s using a kid as cover and daring you to do anything about it.
