Hello World. My name is Brian Aspinall and I live with Borderline Personality Disorder. Here are a few things I'd like to share about my own mental health journey. BPD is a complex mental health disorder characterized by intense emotions, difficulties with self-image and impulsive behaviours. It affects how we think, feel and interact with others. Research suggests that BPD is caused by genetics, childhood trauma or abuse and other neurological factors. It's important to remember that individuals with BPD are not defined solely by their diagnosis. We have unique strengths, talents and qualities just like everybody else. With the right treatment and support people with BPD can experience significant improvement in their symptoms and overall well-being. Therapy has been EXTREMELY helpful for me. While triggers are my responsibility, empathy, kindness and understanding are crucial. People like me often experience intense emotions, and we struggle with regulating them. Offering empathy, patience and an understanding can make a significant difference. While BPD can present many challenges, many individuals with the disorder go on to live very fulfilling lives. With the right support system, self-care practices and treatment, individuals can work towards recovery and achieve their goals. Peace and love always win. ❤️ #HackTheClass #CodeBreaker
