Maha Bakhit (a Sudanese activist) says that women are taken from the city of Khartoum towards Darfur, and their hands are tied with chains and sold in the market like other goods. They also remembered that there was a merchant who said that a 13-year-old girl was crying and asking for help, so he bought her for approximately $1,800 to return her to her family in Khartoum.
