Shawn Holley fucked Tory Lanez over. 😡 Tory paid $200K–$300K for his defence. Just days before the trial, Holley walked away from the case while his freedom was on the line. By then, Tory had already been disagreeing with her over how his defence should be handled, including his wish to pursue Kelsey Harris. And then there are the connections… Holley had previously represented Roc Nation CEO Desireé Perez. She was also a producer on Reasonable Doubt, a legal drama loosely based on her life whose title shares the name of Jay-Z’s debut album, with episodes named after Jay-Z songs. Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé’s “Savage (Remix)” was featured in Season 2 of the show. Holley’s daughter, Nayanna, is also a singer who has worked as a backup singer for Beyoncé. Then there’s the DNA evidence. At trial, LAPD criminalist Randy Zepeda testified that Tory’s DNA was not found on the magazine, while the firearm DNA was inconclusive, with unknown contributors present. Tory’s ethics complaint alleges although Holley knew about those unknown contributors she told his DNA expert not to conduct extensive testing on the gun, despite Tory maintaining he never touched it. Since the trial, it has been revealed that he was 100% excluded from the firearm.. Tory paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for a lawyer to fight for his freedom. Instead, his defence was compromised by undisclosed conflicts, key evidence wasn’t properly pursued, and Holley walked away while the before the trial started. Ultimately, an innocent Black man was railroaded, set up and failed. This is what happens when power, connections and a broken system matter more than truth and justice. FREE TORY. 😤

His father, Harold Edison, said investigators from the LA District Attorney’s Office were looking for his son, even sending a SWAT team into his home and handcuffing him in front of his 8-year-old daughter. He spoke out, saying the family was being harassed and calling on Megan Thee Stallion and the DA to leave them alone. During the trial, prosecutors told the jury Edison would testify and share specific information but he never did. The jury never knew why a key witness didn’t appear, and Tory’s team had no way of knowing what Edison would have said. On appeal, Tory’s lawyers pointed this out, highlighting how the missing testimony affected witness credibility and the jury’s perception of the case. They stated they had never seen any statement or interview from Edison and had no idea what he would have testified to.
