The people of Kikuyu need to understand that their legislator Kimani Ichung’wah is the face of every punitive bill that has turned into law to help the oppressor repress the citizens more and hold on to more power. Ata Housing levy yeye ndio alileta. Today I will remind us of the Assumptions of Office of President & Transition of Executive Authority Bill, 2025. Shoba Gatimu told us about it earlier in the year. And yes, it was already ascended into law. In simple terms, this is a new Kenyan law (officially the Assumption of the Office of President and Transition of Executive Authority Act, 2025) that acts like a "rulebook" for handing over power from one president to the next. It spells out exactly how the swearing-in ceremony happens, who does what during the handover, and how to avoid chaos if the outgoing president can't show up. Most important is that the person announced as president by IEBC immediately has presidential powers and authority before swearing in. Kenya already had some rules on this from the 2010 Constitution (Article 141, which says the president-elect takes office by swearing an oath) and an older law called the Assumption of the Office of President Act of 2012. That 2012 law focused mostly on the ceremony—like handing over a symbolic sword (for the president's role as military commander) and a copy of the Constitution from the outgoing leader. When being sworn in, the power thirsty William Samoei Ruto, PhD Felt and accused the outgoing side of dragging their feet—not providing full briefings, security details, or cooperation. It felt messy and risked instability according to them. To fix this, the government started working on an upgrade in late 2024. Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi pushed for it, saying the country needed stronger rules to protect the economy, safety, and democracy during power shifts. The goal? Make transitions "seamless" no matter what— even if the old president dies, refuses to hand over, or is abroad. But here is the catch, The president elect announced will have full authority as president before swearing in. Of importance is to note the special mention of access to police and control of machinery of violence. At the same time, the dispute resolution period was pushed from 14-21Days. Now imagine what will happen if William Samoei Ruto, PhD is declared President elect in 2027 and we contest it? He will order our killing by the police and he will rob the coffers dry. Dec Muniko was a good man. He didn't deserve to die 😭 He was 23 years old. Had just come from the village from celebrating New years with his family. He had just got some capital from his aunt Lydia Muniko in the video below to boost his business. He sold Mitumba (thrift) clothes in Thika. Police broke into his apartment searching for weed and Dec was beaten to death and thrown off the 5th floor of the building. What a sad way to lose such a young promising man. Police Brutality is advanced by rogue police men. These rogue policemen live amongst us. They buy vegetables from the same mama mbogas as us in the hood yet they terrorize us. Yet they kill us. Why do we allow it? Our constitution in Article 21 regards life so precious that it is our right to have it. Even for arrested persons. They have a right to fair trial. Let us wake up and protect our constitution and the spirit of constitutionalism in Kenya. That is our birthright. We must not sell it for anything. Ledama Olekina exactly what his work is as the Narok senator is? if it is only limited to compelling Kenyans to give up their indigineous seeds and the construction of an airport in Narok instead of fighting for what really matters. For context, let's talk about the building of the Ritz Carlton at Maasai Mara Reserve. Caroline Mutoko lemme add something to your approach and I will focus on Narok county for this one. Narok county in 2023 did The Maasai Mara Management Plan (specifically the 2023-2032 version) is a comprehensive strategy balancing wildlife conservation, sustainable tourism, and community benefit for the Greater Maasai Mara Ecosystem. This management plan, imposes a moratorium on all new tourism accommodation developments and the expansion of existing bed capacity within the reserve's designated zones. This restriction is a key measure within the plan's Zonation and Visitor Use Scheme to address the problems of increasing camp numbers, congestion, and environmental degradation that were observed in previous years. The most significant addition is an explicit ban on constructing any new lodges or camps inside the MMNR for the duration of the plan (until 2032). So Sen. Ledama Olekina how then did you allow the state to come in and give what felix koskei in his letter termed as 'ONE TIME EXEMPTION' for the building of Ritz Carlton within The Maasai Mara Reserve along the Sand River where the Great Migration happens? We need answers because the Maasai community was not involved in consenting to this construction as well as the Benefits Sharing arrangement that demands for involvement of the community. Sen. The daily realities in our beloved nation Kenyan households is that the combination of high inflation, stagnant wages and rising taxation has eroded purchasing power and deepened social inequality. The reality of today being the last day of 2025 is that 41% of Kenyans have admitted to being struggling to make ends meet. Our current being schools opening next week with decreased capitation and parents forced to pay more for basic education, schools lacking feeding programs, grade 10 students being misallocated schools, parents unable to download the admission letters from the portal and the curriculum books for Grade 10 not printed, the education sector is a total mess ‼️ For the working class, NSSF deductions are set to raise digging deeper into the payslip of working Kenyans further disadvantaging households. . Not forgetting the lack of justice to the 200+ Gen Zs who have been brutally murdered by this Killer regime. Ooh and that you have a spendthrift of a president William Samoei Ruto, PhD who spends 55m State House Kenya daily and is in pursuit of selling our state assets to further hide the reality of our Odious debt. These realities are that which must give us sleepless nights as we turn over to 2026.
