The justice system in India has become essentially communal . Muslim accused of any crime are met with harshest of punishments- encounters, mass arrests & bulldozers while hindu accused of even heinous crimes are not touched. A man accused of inciting Delhi Riots where more than 53 people , mostly Muslims were killed in now the Law Minister, a hindu saint who gives blasphemous remarks almost everyday enjoys full police protection while many other who call for Muslim genocide are part of cabinet and legislatures. This is failure of the spirit of the Indian Constitution, failure of defining of a neutral state and failure of words like secularism, fraternity and equality.

Almost a month ago, a Muslim women was brutally lynched to death. She was forced to drink urine when she asked for water, all while she was on Ramadan fast. Now, the perpetrator of this heinous crime was given bail and received a heroic welcome. Is this not the sign of a deeply rotten society?

I just met the Muslim family from #UttamNagar whose home was bulldozed after the recent communal tensions. As we sat with them, the woman of the house narrated what had actually happened that day. She spoke about how a 20-year-old man named Prince allegedly threw a balloon at her aunt and tried to molest her. When the family protested, he later returned with a group of people and a scuffle broke out. Tarun was among those who came with the group, and in the chaos that followed, he died. Listening to her, one thing kept echoing in my mind: did anyone in authority, or any of the loud “influencers” who rushed to give their verdicts, ever bother to come here and hear this side of the story? Or was the judgment already written before anyone cared to listen?

A 28-year-old Muslim man was chased and shot dead in Nuh, Haryana by Bajrang Dal extremists. He was the only earning son of his family, the father of a two-year-old daughter, with another child yet to be born. On his shoulders rested the responsibility of his ageing parents and five sisters. Today, his family is left with unbearable grief, uncertainty, and a future filled with fear. Yet there have been no arrests. No loud outrage. No primetime debates. No bulldozers. Just silence. It feels as if Muslim lives have become so cheap in this country that their blood does not even deserve justice.

It was a deeply disheartening moment while returning from #Palla village in Nuh district, Haryana. Aamir, just 28 years old, was chased and shot dead by Bajrang Dal extremists on allegations of cow trade. When we reached his home, the cries of his mother, father and family members were unbearable. No words can truly describe the grief inside that house. We also visited the petrol pump where Aamir had filled fuel in his pickup shortly before the incident. The video footage clearly shows that the vehicle was empty. There were no cows inside, contrary to the accusations that were made. It leaves everyone with a heavy heart. The law seems to be fading away when Muslims can be killed in broad daylight like this, and justice feels so distant. Muslims are being targeted again and again, and families are left to mourn while the system remains silent.

Try to ask this question, how cruel can the state be , if you are a Muslim. Well, your shops, homes,mosques, madrasas can be bulldozed, you can be killed in police custody, your youth leaders can be jailed for indefinite period & you can be killed in riots & denied justice.

Miles2smile Foundation is raising funds for Kallu, a 61-year-old vendor from Gurugram, whose world was turned upside down in the wake of a devastating incident. Kallu's shop is one of the seven burnt Muslim shops from sector 66 of #Gurugram that was targeted, looted, and reduced to ashes during the violent events that unfolded. His shop selling mattresses and coolers was a sole source of his income. He faced a loss of 3 lakh rupees. The Muslim shops were targeted, looted, and burnt in several parts of the state due to the violence that erupted during a procession in the Muslim-dominated Nuh district. The procession was organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal. We aim to rebuild Kallu's shop and empower him to reclaim his livelihood and sense of security. Whatever is happening in #Shimla is worrying. Hindutva crowd that wants a mosque to be demolished is getting out of control. See the irony, for years Muslims were alleged to oppress the minority wherever they are in Majority worldwide, but in reality the hindutva does the same with muslims in India. From Lynching Muslims over puny issues to demolition of their homes to this episode of not allowing them to built their mosque, this is majoritarian evil.

In May, the Assam government ordered a large-scale demolition drive across several districts. According to data shared by Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, more than 4,000 homes were demolished in Goalpara, around 3,400 in Hasilabil and Ashudubi, and over 1,900 in Dhubri alone. Estimates suggest that after May, more than 10,000 homes were destroyed, leaving over 50,000 people homeless. Getting verified data from Assam was extremely difficult. Whenever we attempted to reach affected areas, Assam Police teams closely monitored us, restricted our movement, and repeatedly stopped us from documenting the ground reality. Despite the risks, we personally visited Dhubri, Guwahati, Goalpara and nearby regions. Our team members were chased, detained and forcibly escorted out of districts. We conducted night visits and sting operations to reach relief camps where displaced families are now surviving with minimal resources. This documentary connects the dots, from the demolition drives to the larger historical and political context of the Assam Accord in 1985, the amendment to the Citizenship Act in 1986 and the NRC process monitored by the Supreme Court in 2019, which left 19 lakh people excluded from the citizenship list. We bring you firsthand narratives, interviews and ground reports from families who have lived in these areas for decades yet now face displacement and identity struggles. This film attempts to explore the history, policies and segregation unfolding in the state through the voices of those directly affected.
