Les visiteurs pouvaient y admirer des œuvres issues des anciennes collections royales. L’occasion de revenir sur un mystère encore non résolu : l’étrange cas d’une œuvre disparue qui devait répondre à la célèbre « Grande Odalisque », actuellement exposée au musée du Louvre, salle 702, aile Denon, niveau 1. ∴ 🌍 Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres was born in Montauban on August 29, 1780. This provides an opportunity to revisit a mystery that remains unsolved: the strange case of a missing work intended to be a counterpart to the famous "Grande Odalisque," currently on display at the Musée du Louvre, room 702, Denon wing, level 1.

Après un important travail d’étude — comparaisons, analyses scientifiques, radiographies — la restauration a permis de retrouver la lisibilité de l’œuvre, longtemps obscurcie par des couches successives de vernis et de dépôts. Le public saura ainsi apprécier la maîtrise technique et chromatique d’un Delacroix arrivé à pleine maturité ; suite à cette restauration des grands formats d'Eugène Delacroix engagée depuis 2019. 📍A redécouvrir dès maintenant, salle 700, aile Denon. ... 🌎 ✨️ Restored, Delacroix's "The Entry of the Crusaders into Constantinople" is revealed to the public! After extensive research—comparisons, scientific analyses, and X-rays—the restoration has restored the painting's legibility, long obscured by successive layers of varnish and deposits. The public will now be able to appreciate the technical and chromatic mastery of a Delacroix at the height of his powers, following this restoration of Eugène Delacroix's large-format works, which began in 2019. 📍Rediscover it now in Room 700, Denon Wing.

🇫🇷 Une restauration spectaculaire redonne vie à cette stèle égyptienne ! Brisée en deux à la fin du 19ème siècle à la suite d’un accident survenu pendant la guerre franco-prussienne de 1870., cette stèle vient de retrouver toute sa splendeur grâce à une restauration exceptionnelle s’appuyant sur les technologies les plus récentes. Elle appartenait à Imény, contrôleur des travaux sous le pharaon Amenemhat II (vers 1900 av. J.-C.). Son texte demande aux passants de faire des offrandes et des prières pour assurer sa vie éternelle et celle de sa famille. À découvrir au Louvre : La stèle d’Imény est actuellement présentée dans le département des Antiquités égyptiennes du musée, salle 337, aile Sully. ∴ 🌎 A spectacular restoration brings this Egyptian stele back to life! Broken in two at the end of the 19th century following an accident during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870, this stele has just regained its full splendor thanks to an exceptional restoration using the latest technologies. It belonged to Imeny, a works supervisor under Pharaoh Amenemhat II (circa 1900 BC). Its inscription asks passersby to make offerings and prayers to ensure his eternal life and that of his family. See it at the Louvre: The Imeny Stele is currently on display in the Department of Egyptian Antiquities, Room 337, Sully Wing.
