Sue and Megan said they made the decision to split together. As for the podcast? Megan: it’s gonna look a little bit different moving forward. Obviously, our relationship was such a huge part of this podcast…we are not going to be hosting this podcast together every week. Sue: we aren’t going anywhere. We’re going to be doing a little trade-off, hosting six more special episodes of A Touch More. Megan said she’ll be starting her own show later in the summer!

If you want more context…. Here’s Phee’s FULL comments, echoing what many players and coaches have all said: “The game is too physical right now. I think that’s been a complaint of players and coaches alike for the past several years. We’ve been compared to the NBA of the 80s, in just our physicality. And I do think that hinders the players obviously. You come to watch players play offense and to score. When it’s so physical, the game is not fun to watch and it’s not fun to play.” How did it get so physical? “I mean, we want to win. If the rules allow, we’re gonna kill each other to get there. I just think the rules need to change in that regard so it’s safety for others and a better experience for the fans as well.” Changes to reffing or different rules? “I think it’s both. I think consistency in reffing is the no.1 thing that we ask for every year. I think the game right now is catered to the defensive player, Because you always hear ‘defense wins championships’ and it does but, in my opinion, it should be catered to the offensive player, because that’s why you play basketball. You would like it to be more like the all star game? “I would not go that far. You still need defense for sure, but just a little tweaks here and there.”

Phee says Unrivaled is still necessary even with new WNBA CBA and players in Unrivaled could actually make more than the W max: “Our salaries are still extremely competitive. Most people are still making more in Unrivaled than they are in the WNBA. And, on top of that, we still have to play… you still have to improve your game in the offseason. Miles on the physicality of a W game and what it was like being out there for the first time: “I don’t think this game was a fair test just because they’re a bunch of young rooks too, so it kind of was like playing against college girls who I literally were just playing against, so I’m excited to play like a vet, experienced, tested team. But nonetheless… they came out very strong. I thought Cotie was really great, setting the tone physically.”

Reeve said she and Miles spent a couple hours together after the Mystics game: “It was actually more just sharing information about different hall of fame players and their paths.
