Sen. Kelly: After 15 years working with Russian cosmonauts, I learned mission success was not their top priority. First was how things looked, second was who to blame, third was what they could steal. Mission success was somewhere fourth on the list.

Commander of Ukraine's 3rd Corps Biletsky: Russia runs short on manpower — you feel it every month. The meat waves that were normal 7-8 months ago are gone, even at the hottest sections of the front. And Ukraine now dominates the air — from the first trench to 200km deep. 1/

I told CNN that people outside Ukraine don't understand how intense Russian attacks are. Ukrainians die and these deaths could have been prevented with better Western supplies of Patriots. This is painful. It's unjust. But we're resolved. We accept it. What choice do we have. 1/

Sen. Blumenthal: What lessons can USAF learn from Ukraine? Gen. Niemi: Ukraine is building a million drones a month. We think in dozens; they think in mass production. The AF is adopting that lesson through low cost cruise missiles and affordable mass munitions. 1/

Budanov: Ukraine periodically cuts Russia’s land corridors to occupied Crimea, and does it effectively for long stretches. It hits logistics hard: fuel moves mostly by tank trucks. No fuel means vehicles stop, generators stop, and occupiers struggle to perform tasks. 1/

A Russian soldier pretended to surrender, got down on his knees, and prayed. And as soon as he was given the chance, he grabbed his rifle and ran off. “That Russian turned out to be a disgusting man. I wouldn't even call him a man” — Ukrainian drone pilot for Radio Svoboda. 1/

Budanov: I fully agree with the Zelenskyy: there is a window before winter. The task is to try to stop this war as soon as possible, preferably before winter. Ukraine has enough capabilities to try, and there are real signs the groundwork already exists. 1/

Fukuyama: Ukrainians have systematically taken out Russian air defenses in Crimea with medium range drones and missiles. The peninsula depends on a narrow land route through the isthmus and the Kerch Bridge. Ukraine now reportedly controls the isthmus from the air and has repeatedly attacked the bridge. 1/

Mearsheimer: Drones make rapid advances difficult, but Russia is still making progress on the ground. The idea that Ukraine has turned the tide and will roll Russia back is not plausible. Russia controls roughly 20% of Ukraine and is not going to give it up. 1/

Kasparov: The initiative has fully passed to Ukraine. Russian war correspondents no longer talk about major advances; they talk about the risk that the front may collapse because logistics are being destroyed. So far, Moscow has no effective antidote. 1/

Petraeus: Putin is the personification of evil. He wants to reassemble as much of the former Soviet Union or Russian Empire as he can, and he does not believe Ukraine has a right to exist as an independent country. We did not listen carefully enough. 1/

When soldiers are taught how to survive an FPV drone, they’re taught “how to try to survive.” Rule number one: don’t stay together. One strike can wipe out a group. If you scatter, the drone has to pick one target. After that — it’s all down to chance, The Telegraph. 1/
