There's a fan theory circulating online that the only Earth where Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark truly becomes a hero is Earth-616. In most other universes, he eventually turns into a villain in one form or another. This idea gains weight in Infinity War, when Doctor Strange looks through millions of possible futures and finds only one where they win -one where Tony doesn't become corrupted by his own power. Tony's sacrifice may have saved Earth-616 in the moment, but it raises a larger question: What If Tony Stark himself was the anchor being of 616? With him gone, the stability of that universe could be compromised, leading to an incursion. That outcome might be exactly what Doctor Strange was trying to avoid all along.
