I must apologise, especially to those against floating bus stops. I was cycling along without paying attention and almost sent a guy to the almost hospital in the almost ambulance. A sobering reminder that the most deadly infrastructure can't compete with an inattentive cyclist

It's victim blaming plain and simple. Even if the cyclist did run PEDESTRIAN lights here the truck following would have done the same I see amber gambler London black taxi drivers all the time. Who do you think here has the most chance of killing someone one day? Cyclist or Taxi?

Funny how some people suddenly care about “disabled access” only when it means ripping out cycle lanes Not all disabled people are blind. Some can’t drive at all. Many independently use the cycleway thanks to the segregated design Same design that requires floating bus stops

This was a recent experience of mine at a floating bus stop. A few impossible things happened. Cyclists don't stop for people There is nobody using the cycleways Disabled passengers can't use a bus anymore There's increased pollution from bad traffic Cyclists are falling off

Hello London Fire Brigade Is there any chance you could follow your own advice? Left turning trucks failing to look out for cyclists at junctions is the most deadly thing when it comes to cycling around London. Seems to be something this driver of yours has forgotten.

So who should be giving way to who here? This truck driver said he saw me as he was already halfway turning across #Cycleway4. It's my understanding from the Highway Code rule H3 that just because you're in a truck it doesn't exempt you from stopping and waiting....

Reopening Old Jewry and letting black cabs back into Bank Junction has turned this part of City of London back into a traffic sewer that makes walking and cycling the lowest priority for people who live and work here.

What could possibly go wrong when you're driving your truck around central London at peak hour and looking to your right is considered 'optional' as you go through a Give Way using the 'might is right' rule instead of the Highway Code

Ah yes, that famously crystal clear bit of the Highway Code that definitely says cyclists must magically disappear so drivers can overtake buses without the mild inconvenience of waiting. Really keeps the roads safe for the hard working drivers.

I'm doing 20 mph here so I am only holding up a criminal driving. Once again it's another of #Londonsfinest getting schooled by the CoL Police that every lane is a cycle lane. Here's hoping he's already on 3 or more points so he can find a new career with his attitude to driving

The #1 rule for #cycling around London is never trust a truck not to try and take you out so always be 100% sure you know what their intentions are I suspected this one would be difficult after cancelling their right turn to have a try at knocking me off on a painted cycle lane

We need a change of the mindset where because I'm bigger and can do the most damage it's on the more vulnerable road user to be the ones held responsible for their safety.

I saw one of those "almost killed me" moments you read about in the Daily Mail and Telegraph when there is a cycling article and a pedestrian commenter has a story about a dangerous bike rider that came so very close to killing them. He was lucky, buses drive through here too.

Amazing how cycle lanes are always “empty” and nearly every cyclist “never stops at red lights”. I must’ve imagined the dozens waiting patiently in this video. Strange how that keeps happening. 🤔

Genuine question.... Which is more dangerous here tonight in a practical sense? Run the red light when there was no traffic about on #cycleway4? Wait for the green for some distracted driver to plough through on a red light? Tonight I think running the red was safer.

During summer if I post a video of #Cycleway4 often the football fans and the anti-active travel brigade will retort with comments along the lines of wait until it is wet and freezing in January. Well, here it is and it seems the cyclists using the cycle lane outnumber the cars.
