The corporate gymnastics around E20 fuel are getting out of hand, and Maruti Suzuki just hit a new milestone in "tying oneself in knots." The Timeline: 📍 The Owner’s Manual: Explicitly states "Up to E10 only" to legally shield warranty liabilities. 📍 The PR Statements: Executives publicly assure millions that manuals don't matter and E10 cars handle E20 without issue. 📍 The Courtroom Defense: When ordered by a Consumer Court to replace/refund a car due to fuel system failure, MSIL appeals stating: "The vehicle is E20 compatible as mentioned in the manual, the damage was caused by ADULTERATED fuel!" 📍 The Service Center (Today): I took my car in for service today, and the advisor pitched me a protection package against damage caused by... you guessed it: "adulterated fuel." MSIL claims to have serviced 15 million E10 cars with "Zero E20 damage." But when every case of ethanol phase-separation or fuel line corrosion is conveniently categorized as "adulteration," the stat becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Trapped between government blending targets and customer liabilities, MSIL has managed to deny warranty claims on one end, while monetizing customer fear by selling add-on protection on the other. First, they suppress the SIAM letter exposing corrosive chloride in E20. Then, they mislead the nation claiming just 2 bad samples across 87,000 pumps. Two weeks later? Petrol sales halted at 2,573 pumps. That is a 1,200x surge in admitted contamination. Why has ethanol blending become so untouchable that the government is willing to sacrifice citizen vehicles, hard-earned consumer money, and basic transparency to protect it? Update: Since this video was posted, I received a call from a Top Executive of the dealership. The gentleman requested me to delete the video to which I refused. A representative from Maruti Suzuki was also trying to connect but I couldn't take the call due to work. However, what was evident from the entire episode is that automakers are possibly under pressure from govt against any mention of ethanol. I repeat what I said on the call that I have no complaint against the dealership or the service advisor. My post was to point out the inconsistencies in the statements made by Maruti Suzuki w.r.t. e20 and I stand by my words. #EthanolScam

What a complete joke! Maruti Suzuki is now defending itself by saying E20 fuel is explicitly mentioned in the owner's manual, so the car can run on it. Hold on - contrast this with the MoPNG press conference where Rahul Bharti boldly claimed that even if a car's manual says E10, it can run on E20 with absolutely "zero issues"! So which is it, Maruti? Does the manual matter, or was that press conference just a PR stunt to mislead millions of e10 or earlier vehicle owners? Pune is a road illiterate city. This is probably the mildest way of saying it. This video is from Kharadi Mundhwa bridge. Look at the barrage of wrongsiders, even though a u-turn is available barely 100 metres on either side. Sadly, I've never seen पुणे शहर वाहतूक पोलीस take action.

Our roads are filled with idiots and some drunk idiots too. (I've nothing against drinking. If u like it and if the law permits, pl drink; but pl don't drive once you had a drink) This idiot dangerously sped past me, almost brushing my arm. I realised something was wrong and started indicating to him to stop, but he thought I was furious at him for brushing past me and he started cross driving like a maniac. Had to confront him after chasing about 2 km. Finally he pulled over as the lady in the back seat shouted at him. No wonder it was an MH12. Dear Punekars, a vehicle regn plate isn't a decorative piece. It's a statutory reqmt & thus has a set standard of font,color,shape etc. A proper plate is essential for ID of a vehicle. Pl don't play with it like these ppl have. PS: 90% chain snatchers have so-called fancy plates

MH govt has neither the will nor the courage to enforce rule of law as far as traffic is concerned. Forget about HSRP implementation on pre 2019 vehicles. HSRP is already mandatory (and plates provided by RTO, without which the dealer isn't supposed to deliver the vehicle) for vehicles from 2019 onwards and even these vehicles freely roam around with illegal plates or even no plates, and no action seen to be taken. महाराष्ट्र पोलीस - Maharashtra Police hope u realise the kind of security risk such vehicles are.
