SEVENTEEN Minghao used a remix in his DJ set that turns the Islamic nasheed, “Salu ‘ala al-Nabi wa Zidu Salatah,” into rave music. The original hymn is a widely recognized religious piece associated with Hajj seasons and Islamic celebrations, making its use as party music offensive and disrespectful to many Muslims. Many Muslims consider the pairing of religious hymns into secular dance music disrespectful, as Islam generally discourages the merging of sacred religious expressions with entertainment and party culture. Considering the religious significance of the original nasheed, Minghao is being urged to address the situation and acknowledge why its use in this context has upset many Muslims.
