#HeatedRivalry is about to air in Japan. 🏒🎉 Japanese dubs are pretty well-known, so you need to hear the preview voice acting. I was a little worried Shane’s voice might come across softer or more subdued than intended… but it doesn’t at all. They kept both characters’ distinct personalities intact and gave them equal energy — neither one feels overpowered or diminished. #HeatedRivalry is known for its incredible use of music. BUT there are two scenes where the BGM is deliberately stripped away — and I’d argue that this silence is actually one of the best BGMs in the entire show. First, their first kiss in the hotel room. No score. Just the sound of their kiss, the press of skin, and their breathing growing heavier as they chase something completely new. The absence of music makes the raw tension almost unbearable. Then comes Episode 6. The cottage. Two people who only ever stole a few hours together, a few times a year, are suddenly given two whole weeks. And the show makes a remarkably bold choice: it drops the BGM for long, unbroken stretches. Only their voices. Only the quiet sounds of everyday life. When they finally confess late at night, that sustained silence hits differently. It feels almost physical. Their soft sobs, the shaky breaths as they hold each other — in that quiet, it becomes vividly clear that Shane and Ilya have finally stepped into each other’s real lives. Then, at dawn, as they watch their first sunrise together as a couple, “One Soul” finally plays. Knowing exactly when to pull the music and when to let it back in — isn’t this command of silence one of the best BGMs of HR?

허드슨이 코너 칭찬 & 자랑 하는 거요 본인도 쉽지 않은 역할에 어려운 캐스팅인데, 친구를 높여주는 마음 씀씀이나 하는 말이 정말 2001년생의 그것이라고는… 「원래 제작진은 찐 러시아인이나 동유럽권 배우들을 찾고 있었어요. 하지만 아무도, 그 누구도 코너를 이기지 못했죠. 아무도 코너를 능가하지 못했어요. 사실 캐스팅하기 힘든 조건이 한두 개가 아니잖아요. 주근깨가 있는 혼혈 아시안을 찾는 것부터가 엄청나게 힘든 일이니까요. 근데 책에서 아시안이라는 설정이 중요하긴 해도, 실제로 어떤 유형의 아시안인지가 스토리에 큰 영향을 미친다고 생각하진 않거든요. 하지만 키가 193cm에 곱슬머리인, 엄청나게 아름다운 진짜 러시아인을 찾는 건 힘든 일이죠. 레이첼 작가님이 캐스팅하기가 진짜 빡센 캐릭터들을 쓰신 거예요. 근데 코너가 해냈어요. 코너가 바로 일리야 그 자체죠. 정말 끝내주게 일리야를 살려냈어요. 코너의 연기를 보는 건 정말 경이롭거든요. 다들 그 친구를 사랑하게 될 거예요.｣ #히티드라이벌리 #hudsonwilliams
