In the Saudi TV series "Tash ma Tash," a character is known as a harbinger of doom within his town, delivering bad news in a comically exaggerated Najdi-Araidhi accent. For comedic effect, he begins every piece of bad news with "مادريتا؟" pronounced as /maːdriːtaː/.

An old Najdi Samri song adapts an elegy by Abdullah bin Nahidh, mourning his wife, whom he couldn't see before her passing. The poem, rich with themes of loss, parting, & longing, was written upon learning of her death while she was in Al-Aflaj & he was in the city of Riyadh.

The oldest Najdi Ardah poem that is still performed today was written by Princess Moudi Ad-Dahllawi from Al-Rass during the Ottoman siege of her town in 1816. She composed the poem to boost the morale of her people and sent it to her husband in Al-Diriyah to be sung.
