A member of my team captured this on film a few weeks ago. I was not aware of it until recently - and I confess, even now, it is difficult to watch. Two days before I buried my father, Pamela Evette staged a political stunt steps from my front door. While I was on my knees in prayer, while I was holding my mother together, while my family leaned on one another through the most painful days we have ever known — she was outside my home, campaigning. I am deeply moved by the loyalty of my staff, who shielded me from this during those weeks of grief and said nothing until I was ready to hear it. Their quiet protection speaks to the kind of people who surround our campaign. What Pamela Evette did speaks to the kind of person she is. There is no political calculation that justifies it. No strategy that excuses it. It was unconscionable - and the people of South Carolina deserve to know it.

First, Clinton tried to say he doesn't like them underage (which wasn't the question). Second, he said the statement he liked them young was false. Third, I asked him if interns were young. I get my advice from YOU the people. And I take your ideas to heart with everything I am. You are the oxygen in my lungs and the blood in my veins. Someone should tell the voters - because the rest of us seem to have the same affliction. Doing things the way they’ve always been done is what got us into this mess. No more.
