During Speaker NA Sardar Ayaz Sadiq's visit to the Parliament of Bangladesh to inscribe remarks in the condolence book placed for the Late Begum Khaleda ZIa, in the presence of foreign ministers and delegates of different countries, the Indian External Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar approached the Speaker National Assembly and shaked hands. During this interaction, Dr. S. Jaishankar introduced himself to the Speaker and told the Speaker that he had recognized him. This interaction marked the first significant high-level contact initiated by the Indian side following the Pakistan-India conflict in May 2025. It is noteworthy that Pakistan has consistently emphasized dialogue, restraint, and cooperative measures, including proposals for peace talks and joint investigations into the alleged False Flag Pahalgam incident, in order to prevent unprovoked aggression and escalation. Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq inaugurated the Parliamentarians Coffee Corner, a collaborative initiative by Third Culture Coffee, at Parliament House today. The event was attended by the Minister of State for Finance and Revenue, Mr. Bilal Azhar Kayani; Parliamentary Secretary, Ms. Rana Ansar; Convenor of the Parliamentary Taskforce on SDGs, Ms. Shaista Pervaiz; and Members of the National Assembly, Ms. Sharmila Sahiba Faruqui Hashaam and Syed Agha Rafiullah. Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized the importance of expanding greenery within the premises of the Parliament House to promote environmental sustainability. He highlighted that increasing tree plantations, installing vertical gardens, and adopting eco-friendly practices would not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the legislative building but also contribute to a healthier environment. NA Speaker urged Parliamentarians to demonstrate climate-resilient leadership by integrating sustainable practices into daily legislative operations. He called for collaboration with environmental experts and civil society to develop a Green Parliament Strategy. At the inauguration of the new Coffee Corner, he praised it as a step toward fostering informal, constructive dialogue among lawmakers and promoting political harmony within the Parliament.
