Tonight I'm going to see To Kill a Mockingbird ( a book I read countless times as a child) It's set in 1930s Alabama. A Black man is accused, and the machinery of society starts treating him as guilty before he's been given a fair hearing. That was nearly a century ago!!! And yet here we are in Britain, in 2026, watching the Professor Jason Arday case unfold. A Black professor. Allegations. Public judgement. Institutions...a racist witch hunt.
