Honestly my job is so easy, all you have to do is hike 6 miles in the dark and sit on a freezing ridge for 6 hours also in the dark and then go to bed at 5am and then when you wake up you get to spend 3 hours editing to make a 15s clip that will generate 27 likes on social media.

Here it is, my timelapse from the Bonneville Salt Flats last night. This is only a 2 second interval (1.8s exposure, f/1.8, ISO 1250), so you can see that these lights were MOVING!

The most incredible thing I filmed in 2025: a moonbow complete with northern lights.

Last week I left my house at 2am to go climb up an icy mountain in the dark and shoot this timelapse of Alta Ski Area. Pretty sweet to live in a city of several million and still have this sort of view of the stars only 30 minutes from my house.

This is perhaps the most outrageous thing I've ever captured. A moonbow (rainbow made from moonlight rather than sunlight), with snow (rather than rain) with the northern lights behind it. A Polar Lunar Snowbow?

My first fall in Utah had amazing conditions and for the last 3 years I’ve been lamenting that I might never see fall colors quite that good again. Until this year, when the bar was set even higher and now I’m convinced I’ve peaked and I’ll never feel happiness again.

One of my biggest highlights of 2025 was seeing these two cheetahs with the first light of the morning. A photographer's dream.

Tomorrow I fly back to the Lofoten Islands in the Norwegian Arctic. Last year the first night we arrived I filmed this outrageous combination of full moon rainbow combined with Northern Lights. Hard to imagine how this year could top it, but fingers crossed!
