It’s been 2½ weeks since my termination. My belongings are packed. Every knock on the door makes me jump — I’m terrified it’s the eviction notice and I’ll be homeless. I’m disabled. My social worker isn’t responding or helping find housing. I have almost no money left — I used what I had to start a small website trying to build something for myself. Phone service gets cut after the 9th. I wake up every day scared, wondering where I’ll sleep. While Democrats and Governor Walz stay focused on blaming Donald Trump, real people like me are slipping through the cracks. We have a state that talks a lot about caring for the vulnerable, but right now it doesn’t feel that way for disabled Minnesotans facing eviction with nowhere to go. I hate advocating for myself, but I’m scared and I don’t know what else to do. Governor Walz — please shape up and help people like me before it’s too late. We need real support, not just politics.
