Miss Universe Turkey showcased Kurdish traditional clothing as ‘Turkish national attire.’ They’ve occupied our land, erased our identity, and claimed our culture as their own. Our music, dances, clothes, and language stolen. They burned our villages, but they can never burn our songs, our language, our culture. It’s systematic cultural appropriation. And we will keep calling it out. Our culture is not theirs to rename, reuse, or rewrite.
