Wishing our partners in the US a Happy Thanksgiving. 🤗Today we are sharing the interview we filmed with Blockjock-James Dont Hate Just Create from USDM and our CEO and Stig Stig A Kjos-Mathisen at Cardano Summit Berlin. Since recording, USDM won the Stablecoin Award for best stablecoin at the Summit, adding even more weight to the partnership. What began as a small pilot in early 2024 has now become a multi million dollar stablecoin with real traction on Cardano. We talk transparency, the Oracle that publishes reserves twice a day, the Marketing Investment Program with DeFi protocols, and the work on global fiat rails and large scale cash off ramps. As Stig Stig A Kjos-Mathisen explains, a lot of stablecoins still don’t have full audits, which makes transparency hard to verify. USDM is built differently. A third-party oracle has read-only access to all four bank accounts holding the reserves - Sparebanken Norge, the Amundi USD Money Market Fund in Europe, and Moneta’s accounts at Western Asset and Fidelity. Balances are visible and updated continuously. USDM on Cardano And if anything ever moved without matching reserves, the Norwegian Financial Supervisory Authority would be at our door within three days.
