మూడు దశాబ్దాల నిరీక్షణకు ముగింపు... మూడు జిల్లాల్లో లక్షల మంది ప్రజల భవిష్యత్తుకు తొలి అడుగు.... మార్కాపురం జిల్లా గడ్డపై రేపు కొత్త చరిత్ర ఆవిష్కృతం కాబోతోంది. దాదాపు 30 ఏళ్లుగా కరువు పీడిత ప్రాంత ప్రజలు కంటున్న వెలిగొండ కల... కృష్ణమ్మ జలాలతో కళ్లముందు నిజం కాబోతోంది. కరవుతో అల్లాడుతున్న పశ్చిమ ప్రకాశం ప్రజల కష్టాలు తీర్చాలన్న సంకల్పంతో 1996లో మొదలుపెట్టిన ప్రాజెక్టు మొదటి దశను పూర్తి చేసి రేపు ప్రారంభించే అవకాశం రావడం నన్ను భావోద్వేగానికి గురిచేస్తోంది. నా మనసుకు ఎంతో సంతోషానిస్తోంది. వెలిగొండ అంటే కేవలం ఒక ప్రాజెక్టు కాదు... కరవుతో పోరాడిన రైతన్నకు భరోసా... ఫ్లోరైడ్ బాధిత కుటుంబాలకు ఆరోగ్య భద్రత... వలస వెళ్లిన యువతకు సొంతగడ్డపై భవిష్యత్తు... పేదరికంలో మగ్గిన ప్రాంతానికి ప్రగతి మార్గం.... మొదటి దశ ద్వారా 1.19 లక్షల ఎకరాలకు సాగునీరు, 4 లక్షల మందికి తాగునీరు అందుతుంది. ఈ మహాయజ్ఞం కోసం తమ భూములను, ఇళ్లను, పుట్టిపెరిగిన ఊళ్లను త్యాగం చేసిన 11 గ్రామాల నిర్వాసితులకు శిరస్సు వంచి నమస్కరిస్తున్నాను. నల్లమల కొండలను చీల్చుకుంటూ నల్లమల సాగర్లోకి దూసుకువచ్చే కృష్ణమ్మ జలాలు.... ఆ ప్రాంత ప్రజల దశాబ్దాల నీటి కష్టాలను సమూలంగా కడిగేస్తాయి. అందుకే రేపటి నుంచి మొదలయ్యే వెలిగొండ జలసిరులు...అభివృద్ధికి రెక్కలు. రేపు వెలిగొండ పండుగ దగ్గర కలుద్దాం! #VeligondaProject

Today is a historic day. The industrial ecosystem of Vizag, and specifically the data centers, will get water from the Polavaram Left Main Canal. The people of Visakhapatnam need not have any apprehension about water availability. While all five proposed data centres together would require only around 5 TMC, the scheme we are implementing can deliver this and more. Today, we have commenced bringing Godavari water through the canal. With the completion of Polavaram, water will flow to Visakhapatnam by gravity, ensuring long-term water security. We will ensure that development and water security go hand in hand. వెలిగొండ సంబరం-కృష్ణమ్మకు వందనం..! వెలిగొండ ప్రాజెక్టు మొదటి దశను ప్రారంభించి, కృష్ణమ్మకు జలహారతి ఇచ్చిన ఈరోజును నా జీవితంలో ఎన్నటికీ మరిచిపోలేను. రైతులు, నిర్వాసితులతో కలిసి గేట్లు ఎత్తి నీటిని విడుదల చేయడం నా అదృష్టంగా భావిస్తున్నాను. 30 ఏళ్ల క్రితం, 1996 మార్చి 5న ఈ ప్రాజెక్టుకు భూమిపూజ చేసిన నేను... మూడు దశాబ్దాల తర్వాత వెలిగొండలో కృష్ణమ్మ జలాలను ఆహ్వానించడం, కరువు నేలపై జలసిరులను చూడటం ఎంతో భావోద్వేగాన్ని కలిగించింది. కరువుతో పోరాడిన రైతన్నలు, ఫ్లోరైడ్ బాధలు అనుభవించిన కుటుంబాల సమస్యలు ఇకనుంచి తీరనున్నాయి. వెలిగొండ కేవలం ఒక ప్రాజెక్టు కాదు... పశ్చిమ ప్రకాశం ప్రజల జీవితాల్లో వెలుగులు నింపే బంగారు కొండ. ఈ ప్రాంత అభివృద్ధికి ఇది కొత్త అధ్యాయం. అందరికీ శుభాకాంక్షలు... వెలిగొండను సాకారం చేయడానికి కృషి చేసిన మంత్రులు, ప్రజాప్రతినిధులు, ఇంజినీర్లు, అధికారులు, కార్మికులు, ప్రతి ఒక్కరికి మరొక్కసారి నా హృదయపూర్వక అభినందనలు. వెలిగొండ మొదటి దశతో మార్కాపురం ప్రాంతానికి గుడ్ టైమ్ స్టార్ట్ అయ్యింది. ఇక మార్కాపురం అన్ స్టాపబుల్... వెలిగొండ జలసిరులు-అభివృద్ధికి రెక్కలు. #VeligondaProject
