🦊: “What’s your dynamic like with Ai Mi off-screen?” 🐱: “Sometimes we’re kind of like rivals and other times I think it’s exactly what everyone calls that older brother–younger sister vibe. It’s all very natural, like that’s just how we are while filming, both on and off set. It’s not just when we’re shooting scenes together. When she’s filming one of her own emotionally heavy scenes, she’ll spend time building up her emotions and thinking things through. Then, every now and then, while I’m sitting there, she’ll walk over and say, ‘Ge, what do you think? Do you think it works if I approach it this way?’ Actually, I think she’s an actress with a lot of ideas of her own. It’s not that she’s uncertain or looking for my advice; I think it’s more that hearing what I have to say gives her a sense of reassurance. It lets her perform more confidently. So I think what she really needs is affirmation, encouragement, or simply someone’s support, and I can be that person quietly supporting her from behind. Sometimes she’s also a little shy and reserved. For example, if she wanted to ask the director to do another take, she’d hesitate, so I’d tell her, ‘Okay, I’ll go with you.’ Moments like that make me see my younger self. When I was younger, there were so many opportunities I wanted to fight for. Some I managed to get, and some I didn’t.
