🚆 Trains on the West Coast Main Line can once again reach speeds of 125mph, following our £26m track upgrade at Hanslope Junction. ✅ The junction’s speed restriction has been lifted, successfully returning it to full line speed for our passengers three weeks ahead of schedule.

🚧 Work continues to repair lines between Preston and Carlisle following a derailment yesterday. 💬 Doug, one of our engineers, has provided an update from the tracks. ⚠️ We are aiming to reopen the line as soon as possible tomorrow - check National Rail for travel updates.

✅ The West Coast Main Line was reopened today, after being severed for 14 days as we replaced a railway bridge that takes it over the M6. 🚆 The new £60m, 130-metre, 4,200 tonne Clifton bridge will welcome trains across it and motor vehicles under it for the next 120 years.

🗓️ Tomorrow, the railway will reopen between Carlisle and Oxenholme as the £60m Clifton bridge replacement is completed over the M6. 🌃 Our teams will work through the night to ensure track, overhead power lines, and signals are ready to go for the first services in the morning.

ℹ️ There are no trains from Milton Keynes to Northampton and Rugby until 5 January, while we upgrade the track on the West Coast Main Line. ✅ Our upgrades at Hanslope Junction may affect your journey, so check before you travel at National Rail. ➡️
